The holiday season was good to me. My cousin has moved back to the U.S., so I should be able to get some diving done this year. He needed some help buying a couple of cars, and I was more than happy to help as needed. We had a number of family over at my parents' house on Christmas day, and a good time was had by all.
I spent the next few days snowmobiling near our cabin by Cheboygan. I noticed a new toy under a cover in our pole barn (think giant garage) and peeled part of the cover back to have a look. It was a late 70's/early 80's Corvette. I'm not really sure of the year since I hadn't removed the cover entirely. Unfortunately, it seems that the fates had pulled a bit of a Christmas prank on me. The car belongs to the grandson of one of the neighbors and was not a retirement toy for my dad, as I'd hoped.
My friend Steven visited family in Tennessee and brought back a carton of smokes and a fifth of Buffalo Trace for me, the latter of which I can't get in Michigan. New Year's Eve was a quiet and comfortable affair at Eric and Danielle's. I should probably start working again tomorrow.
