I want to try a real one now though
When I was in Glasgow with Lauren on Thursday we took a trip to Whittard's for some gourmet lollipops. I spotted a grasshopper pie flavoured one nestled amongst the pina colada, blueberry, chocolate marshmallow, toffee popcorn etc. lollies. When I tried it I was surprised to find it was rather minty! And today, when my dearest older sister was digusted I decided to look up exactly what was in a grasshopper pie.
The recipe I found:
20 oreo cookies (40 halves), fillings discarded, cookies crushed
5 Tbsp butter, melted
3/4 cup hot milk
24 large marshmallows
1/4 cup creme de menthe liqueur
2 tablespoons white creme de cacao
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
Optional A drop or two of green food dye.
Not one grasshopper. I am disappointed.
