Verse: G1
Characters: Prowl, Jazz, Nameless Arc Members
Warnings: fluff
Summary: An error in reasoning - when assumptions are made by those who can't see the forest for the trees. A series of drabbles picking apart the fallacies surrounding Jazz and Prowl
Note: I've been reading fics here starting from the oldest and working my way to most recent (currently in November of 2008) and have finally decided to begin my Delurking. I'm not sure how many drabblea are going to be in this series, but they're mostly going to be fluffy. With some dashes of Angst thrown in occasionaly. Also, completely not liking LJ cuts so if I mess them up just knock me upside the head with a clue please?
Prowl has never been one for large displays of affection. He loves Jazz, Jazz loves him, to Prowl it seems illogical to reestablish the point over and over again.
There are others who believe him to be insensitive to Jazz’s own needs, that believe Prowl to be no better then a drone. Prowl has long since accepted the fact that, whether human or mech, people will only ever see what they allow themselves to see. He allows the cruel comments of the soldiers under his command to roll off him, he never allows them to interfere with his professionalism, Prowl has closed himself of from casual relationships long ago.
There is no point to public displays of affection, and there’s no point in being hurt from the biting comments of his crewmates, but just because it is illogical doesn’t mean that Prowl won’t brush his hand along Jazz’s own casually or whisper words of love into his audios when they managed to steal some time to themselves. It doesn’t mean that Prowl won’t casually touch his beloved’s shoulder or share a cube of energon with him occasionally or show his love for Jazz in a way that any could understand, if they stopped to see.
Just because it’s illogical doesn’t mean that Prowl doesn’t feel a dull ache within his spark when those comments take darker turns and become sharp with cruelty.
But when those comments become just a little too sharp, when the pressure of being aloof and professional at all time becomes a little too heavy, that is when Jazz will, without shame or logic, grab his hand tightly and smile.
