I should have written about this earlier in the week, but I'm just now sitting down to do it.
Last weekend Scott and I got to spend the best weekend in our favorite place in the world--CMU.
First Scott took Thursday and Friday off, so we got to spend two days adventuring. On Thursday we took the kayaks to a lake to explore, then went to the beach, hiked a little, and spent lots of time in the sun. On Friday, we golfed (my first time--and not too bad I must say!) and then played on my lake. It was two very busy days full of our the best summer activities. And we got to cross a few things off of our summer "to do" list!
Our friends were going up to Central on Saturday for a tubing adventure, but we decided to go up early on Friday to get some extra enjoyment out of our favorite town. We arrived late Friday night, changed in the hotel, and then walked hand in hand to O'Kelly's. We got to see a few old friends there (my little Kati, especially), and then we ended the night with an hour or so of dancing and people watching at the Wayside. Did you know a group of Helens can even have a Helen? ;)
On Saturday we layzed around then met everyone to go tubing. Lazy days on the chip are the best. We floated, laughed, and played games at the beach. And even though Scott and I ended up being the responsible adults toward the end, we had a really great time. Afterwards we had dinner at the cabin (delicious!) and headed back to O'Kelly's and the wayside for another night of fun, with even more old college friends.
On Sunday we even got to spend some unexpected time on capus, walking around and re-living olf memories. I used the self timer on my camera to take some pretty good pictures at the seal and then we explored the new education building, AMAZING! :)
Overall, it was a great few days. I have found the greatest man in the world--the greatest outdoor adventure partner, calmer of my worries, and lover of life. Spening another great weekend in the place where we met and where we both miss every day was so perfect and so enjoyable. I hope that no matter how busy our lives get, we will always make time to relish in good old CMU fun. I can't wait for more perfect weekends together.
