I am copying you, Kathryn... :) My year in review:
January: I, terrified, began student teaching this month. I can't even begin to explain how nervous I was on that first day... well and pretty much for the first month. It was eye-opening and wonderful, and I still miss my original students like crazy. Cythia also gave me the honor of standing up in her wedding. :)
February: During this month I actually started teaching full time. For the first time, I realized what it was like to spend an entire day in front of a classroom, to form bonds with students that are unbreakable, and to experience the awesome feeling that comes from this job.
March: Student teaching engulfed me this month... but I also found time to spend with family and friends. Snowmobiling in Gaylord and celebrating my best friends birthday was definitely the highlight.
April: While wrapping up my student teaching during this month, I was offered a long term sub position at my school. It was a whirlwind of days because I was trying to wrap things up in one set of classes while planning for starting in another. I was trying to read Lord of the Flies as fast as I could and refresh my memory on Romeo and Juliet. What a crazy time that was. I also went on a sweet cruise with my family. :)
May: This is the month I began spending time with the man of my dreams. ;) That, however, is not to be overshadowed with the fact that I was also offered the job of my dreams as well this month. And I graduated from college. And I got to experience one of my best friend's engagements. Amazing.
June: I finished out the school year this month, seeing my kids through sickly warm days in my classroom through ants in the pants final exams. After the school year ended, I enjoyed a birthday and became "official" with that boy of mine on his birthday. :)
July: This month flew by with long summer days on the lake and lots of little trips--cedar point, the UP week (always amazing), and days in Troy. By the time the month ended, I was starting to get nervous for the coming school year. I also enjoyed wedding dress shopping with Cynthia, ordering our dresses, and being asked into Klsafie's wedding. :)
August: I tried to soak up as much of the summer during August. A trip to Pittsburg began the month, filled with wedding planning, lots of laughter, and some of my closest friends... then I got to see those close friends again at the CMU baseball outing! :) I planned and planned for the upcoming school year, decorated and cleaned my classroom, and then began havign professional development. The final weekend of the summer my boyfriend and I esccaped to the zoo, mt. pleasant, and macinaw city/island. It was a perfect start.
September: My first "official" month of teaching began... I was so nervous on the first day, but things quickly fell into place. I also spent a bit of time at CMU, enjoying football games and beginning to fall in love.
October: Honestly, I can't remember much from this month. I worked... a lot! S was gone on work trips most of the month... so I focused whole heartedly on my job.
November: A quick month (decorated by the PSP formal :) and then Thanksgiving! Finally ordered those dresses for the May wedding and experienced my first snow day as a real teacher! :)
December: During December I had some great days as a teacher, some amazing family times, prefect times with the man I love, a weekend at CMU with my favs, time with my Pittsburgh lovers, my best friends... a perfect month to end a pretty amazing year.
I can only hope 2009 is as great. :)
