small independent work/gallery space

Hello kids, preferably RISD kids, art students, musicians,Providence people alike,

I have been looking to get in the business of managing /owning a space for artists ( local as can be) , people each other know and friends who would like to showcase photographs, installations, and paintings . The purposes would be for selling , gathering and admiring art ( whatever that might be).

So here and everywhere I want to investigate if anyone knew anyone else who has pursued this, I feel places around as220 and other "independent" spaces aren't what some people in Providence are looking for within an art-space. Let's face it-

I would like something more guerrilla, underground, edgier. I think this could be very fun and a way for people to interact.

I suppose the first move would be finding a space and so on then some brief advertisement. A friend of mine did one of these in Brooklyn and they outcome was fabulous, she has bands and refreshments as well.

so tell me something. email @ theresa.alfani@gmail.com

P.S I went to an art-based school for lit. so this shit really interests me.

Best,
Theresa
