It's 5am and I've just gotten home. We were 5 and a half hours delayed leaving Hong Kong. The tug thingy that pushes the plane from the gate got stuck *to* the plane! After a few hours, they said they would get us another plane. So we all got off. About 40 minutes or so later, the new plane still hadn't shown up and they got the tug detached. So we got back on the original plane. All but one of us. So they had to find that person's luggage. By the time that was done, we needed a new flight crew because they're not allowed to be on-shift that long.
There were just an awful lot of cranky people on that plane. And that was before the 15 hour flight even began!
After we landed in NY, they gave us each an envelope. Waiting in line at immigration, we opened them. They gave everyone a crisp new $50 bill! Cab fare. Lol!
But at least I'm home. The sun is about to rise, the birds are chirping (tweet tweet) and I've made myself a stiff drink.
And no, they were not successful in grossing me out at dim sum. They thought they had me at the cow's stomach, but I've been eating tripe for years! Hell, I've even cooked it myself a couple of times. They were suitably impressed.
Right. I'm going to smoke yet another cigarette (go figure) then take a really long really hot shower. I doubt I'll be able to sleep so maybe I'll unpack as well.
