[That sound you're hearing? Splintering wood, like someone just put his fist through a tree? Yeah.]
WHAT. IS GOING. ON!
[There's a prickly silence after that, punctuated by angry breathing. Vegeta is confused, possibly lost, and he's trying to take a moment to chill out and think. It's obviously not working. More colorful cursing as another tree

It could have been, if it wasn't because I've never set foot in that place and yet I'm here as well.
We're now in Luceti, another world, how we got here exactly is something I don't know yet but I have a few guesses. Supposedly we've been brought here across several dimensions, but I'm not sold on that, I've yet to see something that truly proves that we're not just in a random other planet in our same universe.
[Sure, there are many Earths apparently, but no one has ever said there aren't other human-like races around the universe who may suffer a similar evolution and the like. Specially taking into account that some people claim to be from thousands of years in the future and yet have an almost archaic idea of what advanced technology is.]
The bottom of the deal is that we're trapped here, there's no way to leave that has been found and there's a barrier surrounding the area. Son-kun has given it a good try to destroy it to no avail, but maybe now that you're here we may give it another try. In the worse case we may come to learn what the barrier is made of if I study its reactions to your attacks.
[She won't be the one to tell him to not try, because she herself at times wants to just go and punch it to see if it would work. And she hasn't given up on escaping, she has just come to terms that the chance for it may not be theirs yet but it will come. Who knows, maybe him being there won't be another source of worries for her.]

The idea that he, Vegeta, had been brought worlds away from Earth in the blink of an eye brought the rage boiling back, but it also brought to mind the one thing that could do it:]
Do what you want! Don't tell me this is another idiotic mess caused by those Dragonballs of yours. [Weird shit happening? The things just had to be involved somehow.]
Reply
Another idiotic mess?! I know there's a brain inside that vegetable head, so use it before you start spouting nonsense! First of all, when have the dragon balls caused any mess? In fact, let me remind you that you wanted them quite a lot not that long ago!
And secondly, do you remember the sky going dark all of the sudden? ShenRon can't grant wishes unless he's summoned, which makes the sky in the whole world go dark. So you would have definitively noticed it!
Reply
All of your stupid little planet's problems seem to be traced back to those balls! [Never mind that he was, just recently, one of said problems.] Or that idiot for that matter! I don't see what you're so angry about. I'M the one getting dragged into this mess of yours! [Grumble grumble.]
Stupid woman! I was in the Hyperbolic Chamber! Or has that big brain of yours forgotten already?
Reply
[And that includes Goku, but it's a given. He's as much of a blessing as a curse, the poor kid.]
You don't know why I'm so angry? Let me give you one clue: I've been here for seven months! Seven. Months. Son-kun is from over twenty years in the future and the most advanced technology at hand is a switch! We're subjected to weird experiments every month and there's a stupid war going on outside the barrier that we're forced to take part on. No one seems to even care about being trapped here because the moment you ask for information to try to figure out something all you get is the whole population here saying that they tried already and whatever you can bring in that's new just won't do because they say so! And yet none of you have even noticed me being gone. Not even you, stupid monkey, even when it's me who is feeding and housing you! But when you come you start spouting nonsense and blaming everything on whatever crosses your mind ignoring what I just told you! Is that enough of a clue for the salad you have as a brain?
Reply
What are you talking about you crazy woman?! How can it be seven months?! [Wasn't the Hyperbolic Chamber supposed to work the other way around?] I just saw you a few hours ago with that horrible-- [God, he doesn't even want to think about Trunks right now.]-- How the hell can Kakarot be from the future? Just what we need, more time traveling idiots! If he came to warn us about this, too late. AND STOP YELLING AT ME! You were never missing!

[He's also the one who started throwing accusations. Still she takes a deep breath and tries to calm down. At least she stops shouting.]
If you think Son-kun is capable of doing anything close to time traveling on his own will, you obviously haven't known him for long enough... Anyway, I just told you, wherever this is, is far away from Earth and any planet you may have found during your time playing planet destroyer. My best guess is that if it's a planet stuck in a space between our normal world and the Other World, an inter-dimensional space, surrounded by worm holes that suck in people from all around the universe and from all and any timelines.
It's a place with its own timeline, completely separated from ours. This is basically a place in which you could meet your father while he was still alive and you hadn't even been born.

So that means you...? [He's a little wary, now. He has a bad feeling about this.] What's the last thing you remember?
Reply
[There's a pause and a sigh.]
When talking with Son-kun you mentioned the name Trunks, asking where they were. I know that name but why do you know it? Who's the Trunks you were talking about?
Reply
You know the name but you don't know who he is? Perhaps it would be best if we didn't speak of this yet...

She probably can make a guess if she thinks of it. But she's not sure she wants to think about it alone. Her voice is strangely low when she speaks.]
Ever since we arrived Son-kun has been very tight lipped regarding things he has gone through, as if he doesn't want to say something that will mess things. That kid has never been good at keeping things quiet yet he's doing his best to shut up about something when talking with me... And now you too refuse to talk, "perhaps it would be best" you say, best for what?
If you two are worried enough about something to shut up about it... If what you want is making me worry to death and think that the world is going to explode, you're doing it right, because that's what I'm going to end thinking this all is about if no one starts talking soon.
[She doesn't like not knowing what's going on. She's a woman of information, information is power and it's her only power. Even if they don't know even where they are headed, Vegeta and Goku have their strength to charge forward, but if she doesn't know the way she can't even move. And she doesn't like it. It's bad enough to know herself powerless to help them more, but if she knows things at least she can be their brains. Not knowing something when they do only makes her feel even worse.]

But you're still the mother of his child. Maybe he owes you that much.]
Maybe it won't make a difference... [The way he sounds, it's like you just asked him to kiss Freiza on the lips.] Trunks is your son. The boy from the future, if you know that much. He was training with me on Kami's Lookout before I woke up here. [Vegeta's not entirely sure how you'd react knowing Trunks was also his son. And unless you ask, he won't tell, not that if would take a genius to figure it out. Which you are. But another safety measure wouldn't hurt, in case telling you all of this will effectively cause the world to explode.]
Reply
So she expects a reply, she knows he will answer her question, maybe not now but he will, eventually. And if he doesn't... Then it must mean that whatever they are hiding is definitively something big and important.]
There's a theory running around that we will forget our memories of this place when we return to our world so it probably won't...
[That still didn't stop Goku from being tight lipped though. There's silence on her end when he delivers the answer.
Trunks. Her son. The boy from the future.
She's... Not surprised, indeed it's not a surprise and it's only a mild shock what washes over her. Of course, it's the only logical explanation. She's a genius, she had seen all the signs even when the kid saved them from Frieza. His hair color. His gestures. The Capsule Corp. logo on his jacket. The way he looked at her and the way he kept staring at Vegeta. The time machine... She hadn't wanted to think of it, so she pushed it all away, acted stupid on purpose and tried to forget until all the tell-tale details stopped jumping to her memory when she talked or thought about the boy. But somewhere inside, she knew, she understood it. Was it what people say about 'a mother recognizes her child no matter what'? The name was just the last piece of the domino and the confirmation a mere push to the pieces to fall over, leaving no room to doubt.
Of course he's her son. And she knows who the father is. She knew he was his father even before she wondered who the mother was.
The silence stretches as she stares at the journal before she realizes that she was talking with Vegeta and shouldn't remain quiet for so long. He wouldn't worry, of course, but it's no good either way. She looks for something to say, something to reply. He hadn't said that the kid was his son. She knows Vegeta enough to know he probably doesn't really accept the kid as his. The thought hurts more than it should, but she steels herself, Saiyans aren't known for their parental skills if Goku's an example of it anyway.]
So that's how it is. Geez, you guys sure had me scared for a second. Of course that boy was my son, who else could build such an awesome thing like a time-machine?
[She laughs, it has an empty echo but she's a good actress when she has to be. Her voice is casual, strained but it won't make a big deal out of it.]
I should have known, and here I had thought that there was another genius in the world. Hah!

Then you answered and there was a ring to your voice that he didn't like. He's glad that you can't see his face because as calm and stoic as it is, it would still feel entirely too honest to have you looking at him right now. He can imagine your hair and eyes, those hands fiddling and that mouth chattering away, and he has to wonder why it all comes so easily to him.
Because you just saw the idiot woman, is his first thought, but it weighs on him regardless. Vegeta's not stupid. He's almost sure you'd figured out who the father is, but he resolves to be a man keep quiet about it until it becomes necessary to talk. It doesn't seem like you want to discuss it anyway. He tries not to resent the thought.
It takes him a while to find a reply he's satisfied with.]
I still don't think it's wise to have told you all this.
Reply
By the time the boys are back she'll have fully composed herself, or so she hopes. Even if she hasn't, with Goku around those aren't things to talk about, are they? If anything it's something they should talk about face to face just the two of them... But why? No, there's no use to that, is there? It's not as if she has ever had expectations regarding this man, neither she has them now. She had expectations with Yamcha and look how that ended, the only expectations she had were regarding her own self and that was more than enough. She was an adult woman, successful and a genius, even if she may want many things she doesn't need them, she can live without them and thus she doesn't have to have expectations out of anyone. She doesn't have to pressure anyone to meet them.]
Maybe it's not, maybe it is. It doesn't really matter, if what they say is true I'll forget about it the moment we return. Until then... Well, if Trunks is brought here, all the better if I know, specially if they bring him as a baby or a little kid. I have no wish to traumatize my own child by not recognizing him or knowing who I am to him.
... Besides... Knowing it doesn't matter. It doesn't change anything. It may not be wise, but it sure is a relief.
Anyway, you should hurry and get home, I suppose you weren't lucky enough that they left your clothes nearby? Some people seem to have that stroke of luck.
Reply
Maybe. [His voice is tight.] I guess we'll just have to see.
[He has questions, things like "Do they abduct babies a lot? Or entire families, for that matter?" but it doesn't seem appropriate. Not if he wants to move past this. Instead, he concentrates on the matter at hand. Back to reality, Vegeta. You won't know how relieved he is when you mention his clothes because his vocal chords don't seem to be capable of gratitude.] No, none of my clothes are nearby. Where is this ho... no, never mind, I'll just search for your ki. [And then he's off, racing through the sky as usual. Feel free to keep talking to him, though. It'll keep him from getting too broody.]
