Lights, Camera.....
Whistling cheerfully, Gai was hanging paper lanterns in the hall. And there were lots and lots of them. If he liked one thing best about this festival, it was that it was SHINY.
It was the first time Lee, Neji, and TenTen would see his London flat. Accordingly, the place had been well cleared out to prepare it for occupation by four people. In lieu of a fire, Gai's radiator was decorated with a temporary illusion of flame, nearly licking the high shelf that was graced with the dragon blade that Kakashi had sent him. The kitchen and adjoining living room were cluttered with greenery, trimmed off by the knife Gai had received from Shin, whose multiple blades had come in handy already. A row of high-octane energy drinks bearing Ikki's tag sat alongside the sink, being stared at by a disbelieving frog, and a hearty dinner was on its way over from the deli down the street.
With a grin, Gai glanced over at the door to the sleeping quarters, where the presents for his guests were artfully concealed. He was immensely curious as to what Neji had sent him, but if all went well, he would open that gift in the boy's presence. The orange legwarmers that Rinali had sent him would keep him cozy all year round. On another day, they would have looked not so bad fine with his green jumpsuit; but today his robes and fluffy hat were bright red. And if he cut a rather silly figure as he strode along the balcony, stringing the balustrades with lanterns instead of electric lights, the disbelieving stares of the populace had been worth every minute.
Already he had written several thank-yous, dispatching them by Floo and by wing....
