- I got my first credit card today. This is maybe a big step in growing up. It's also possibly a big step in acquiring a whole shitload of debt. I guess we'll see. Still, the idea of being a 25 year old with No credit wasn't appealing so I bit the bullet. My card has a picture of an Eagle on it, because the Eagle, like America, kicks ass. Love it or leave it motherfuckers!
- The serial novel project is coming along very nicely. I don't know if we should start a LJ community or just an e-mail list, or if an entirely other new structure should be built for it. I'd like that, especially because one or two of the people I've asked to be involved are completely. I could post a list of the people involved here, but it's safe to say that I don't even know in entirety who is involved yet. We will say this; I will write the first chapter, followed by JackShoegazer (I don't know how to do the linky name thing). There are at least four other people involved, but there should be more discussion. If you're involved, leave your email address in here and I'll send one big sweeping email to solve all problems for the first part. Perhaps it is too bold to look at the future, but the idea is that when we're finished with this one, we will start a next one with someone else deciding a concept.
- The unfinished dental torture film (Love and Teeth) would make a sweet play, if you did it with a rotating stage, with twins playing the guy. That's a beautiful way to create a disjointed narrative on stage...do it with twins! Fuck movies, I'm moving to the theatre, where the Writer is God.
- Kristin is coming tomorrow. This is a pretty big deal to me, for obvious reasons and it will likely be the last time we see each other until July, which is also a big deal for obvious reasons. I'm nervous because I'm afraid that in my place (California) I won't be able to provide constant entertainment, as she was for me in her place (New Jersey, which is also my place, to be fair). I know this is a totally fraudulent nervousness, because I know that I don't need to entertain her and that we could have a wonderful time in a cave if necessary, but still it makes me bubble up with morning sickness.
- Paddy Chayefsky is my hero. If you don't know him, go out and rent every one of his movies right now. And then read his television plays. You'll have to order them off Amazon, or if you live in LA go to The Iliad on Burbank and Cahuenga. You won't regret it.
- Today, Jose (who we think might be mildly retarded) laid down some serious wit on a very beautiful girl. When she asked him "Where is the salsa?" he said "Are you in the mood for dancing?". I was very impressed.
