genderswap musings

Reading a male-to-female genderswap story with detailed descriptions of how the character's body was now all different as a woman, with breasts and curves and all, and it got me wondering - does anyone know of any genderswap stories where this physical change isn't very pronounced? That is, the person wakes up the opposite gender, and it's realised by everyone around them, but they're frustrated because they personally don't see/feel any different at all?

Not sure if I'm explaining it well (not even sure if I know what I'm looking for!) but I guess it just throws me, every time I read a fic where the author rhapsodises/grumbles about how different it all is now for the character (almost inevitably a male, learning how to be a female). Particularly since fandom generally seems to be more constructionist than essentialist.

Actually, I just realised that I would really love to read a fic where Britney wakes up a man - not to erase the female from the story, but to explore the idea of whether it'd be more freeing for someone who was once's America's pop princess, or if it'd just be a different kind of cage.(I also like to imagine her show unchanged if she was a guy, but with the same public personality as she carries now.)

Or Mike waking up female but exactly the same face, almost the same body (what? the show's already brought up his soft features), and whether it would change his relationships with Harvey, Rachel and Jenny (and if so, in what way). And how Jessica Pearson would still be completely unfazed by it. PS I would read the fuck out of Rachel/Mike-as-a-woman, no lie.

Anyway, I'm actually in the middle of writing a fic at the moment (but not one of the ideas above, heh) and oh man, I don't remember writing fic to be so hard! (especially when writing sexytimes, gah). And to make it even more pathetic, I'm pretty sure it'll top out at about 3000 words, which...ugh, pathetic.

(But I guess it'll make Yuletide seem like an achievable goal in comparison?)
