Fandom in 2010
It's the start of a end-of-year posting frenzy! Let's see if I can make up for a year of near-silence...
Your main fandom of the year?
Um, I have been multi-fandom-ing it up, reading in a whole bunch of fandoms (bandom, figureskating RPS, Inception, Sherlock, White Collar) but I didn’t really have time to participate in any fandom. :( I’m in an in-between stage and nothing’s come along and grabbed me quite as my previous loves did…yet.

5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1)
6. Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame

Your favourite book read this year?
It’s a toss up between Fun Home (Alison Bechdel), Cloud Atlas (David Mitchell) and The Orchid Thief (Susan Orlean).

Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
Kanye West, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Your favourite TV shows of the year?
White Collar, Parks and Recreation, Southland, Greek
Your favourite LJ community of the year?
The ones that allow me to keep up with all this media… *cough*
You best new fandom discovery of the year?
I don’t know I can identify a specific one - so much of my pop culture gets filtered to me either through my flist or through Ro and then I got mixed up about where I got what from.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
When Fall Out Boy broke up went on permanent hiatus, started new bands, and Patrick started looking like a hunched, skinny alien. :( Now excuse me, I have to go watch the Alpha Dog video again and cry some more.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Peter Burke - I would also not mind a Neal Caffrey ;) (White Collar); Ben Sherman (Southland)
I've also really come to love Mickey Maguire (Shameless), but I don’t want him to be my boyfriend. I would just like the show to give him a nice boyfriend. Why won’t someone just love him? (It is acceptable if they give him Ian again, instead of making Ian sleeping with yet another of his brother’s girlfriends even though he is an out gay character, ffs.)
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation); Lydia Adams (Southland); pretty much the entire female cast of Greek (barring scary Natalie).
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Probably that Southland got renewed for a third season after the NBC debacle. Johnny Weir’s short program at the Winter Olympics.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Aww, the resurgence of actual canon for bandom is making me happy. Also, the other day I was in a shop and they started playing Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and it made me want to dig up my NSYNC Christmas album* and read some old popslash fic. :D
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I want to give Community a try. And read The Hunger Games. And if there were a Parks and Recs fandom with lots of Leslie/Ann stories I would be so into that.
To write - I said last year that I wanted to write more Southland fic and I still do. I have a few bandom WIPs I don’t really know what to do with - to finish or not to finish? And parts of my brain would like to try some White Collar fic…
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Greek and Southland new seasons start Jan 3 and 4 respectively \o/
