Title: Handsome Stranger
Author/Artist:
perilousgardCharacter/Pairing: Lily/James
Rating & Warnings: R; sex but it’s not graphic
Prompt: 49. According to Petunia Evans, James Potter is an arrogant toe-rag. Her sister, Lily, who never went to Hogwarts, thinks otherwise.
Summary: Lily and James go out.
“Your sister thinks I’m an arrogant toerag,” said the boy, as he pushed Lily gently against the wall of the alleyway.
“Does she?” Lily murmured faintly, distracted by his lips, which were so close to her own. “I can’t imagine why.”
“Well, you don’t really know me.” One of his hands was brushing her cheek, playing with a few tendrils of hair that had escaped her sloppy ponytail. Lily felt prickles of pleasure race from her scalp.
“I suppose I don’t, though Petunia mentions you often enough.” She was finding it harder to form coherent sentences. Her breasts were grazing his chest now, and she knew they were both hyperaware of the contact.
“I like her, your sister,” said Potter, and Lily felt a surge of mingled jealousy and disappointment. “She never mentioned you.”
“Guess she wouldn’t, would she? I’m not special or important or talented like she is.”
“Mm, but you are damn pretty.” James’s hand moved to the back of her neck; it seared against her cool skin like a hot iron. “You’re prettier than her.”
Lily’s eyes narrowed. “Is that why you took me out, then? Wanted to snog me just because I’m prettier than my sister?”
“Well, that was partly the reason.”
“Maybe she was right to call you an arrogant toerag.”
“Ah, but you do want to snog me, don’t you?”
“Stop it.” Lily started to push him away, irritated, but he caught both her hands in his, his hold strong but gentle.
“I said it was partly the reason, Evans the Younger.”
“Oh, stop calling me that. My name is Lily.”
“Lily, then.” He gave a little tug, bringing her closer to him. Lily looked up and met a pair of warm, hazel eyes.
“Why else did you ask me out then, Potter?” she asked.
He opened his mouth, then closed it. Then, “I don’t really know,” he said, and there was something in his tone that made Lily’s heart skip a beat. “You’re not like her. You resist, but…in a different way.”
“Because I know what she’s said about you.”
“Make your own judgments, Lily. What do you think about me?”
“I think-“ But Lily never finished. With another tug, James had closed the remaining distance between them and now his lips were on hers. She could have pushed him away if she wanted to, but she didn’t. She kissed him back. James pushed her back into the wall.
Soon his hands were gripping her legs, and he was lifting her up a bit, and Lily’s skirt was up around her waist. She knew she could have stopped him at any time. But she wanted him, wanted him more than she had ever wanted any boy, and though she knew he would disappear back into that untouchable, magical world that her sister lived in, she couldn’t stop herself from locking her legs around his waist and gasping his name as he slid into her.
She didn’t let herself think about tomorrow.

Rating & Warnings: PG; it’s nothing, really…
Prompt: 80. Time travel.
Summary: He reminds her of someone.
“I’m so sorry,” said the man, bending to pick up Lily’s fallen packages. “Wasn’t looking where I was going…”
“No, it’s all right,” Lily responded, unable to stop staring at him. She knew it wasn’t James, although he was as tall as James was and had the same-exactly the same-unruly black hair. But his nose was a bit different, his chin a bit longer, and his eyes…what color were his eyes?
He straightened, smiling a bit at Lily as he offered her bags. Behind a set of spectacles, his eyes were a brilliant green.
Not James. Of course it wasn’t James. She hadn’t seen him in years.
“Thanks,” she said, taking her bags back. “Um…sorry, but…you look incredibly familiar…”
“Ah, I’m not from around here,” the man said, his hand going to the back of his hair. Lily tried to ignore the clench in her stomach at the action. “I’m…well, I’m just here.”
She tightened her hold on her bags. Don’t, Lily. “Are you staying anywhere? Er…do you have anywhere to stay?”
“Not really,” he admitted. “I don’t even know how I got here.”
“You can…stay with me, if you like.” Please stay with me.
He blinked, surprised. “You don’t have to-“
“There’s plenty of room in my flat,” Lily said firmly. “My roommate is hardly ever there. I doubt she would mind if I had company.”
For the first time, the man was looking at her face, and for some reason, he seemed completely transfixed. He stared at her for a long moment without answering. Then, finally, “All right, then.”
Lily smiled, and took his arm, feeling oddly comfortable with such familiarity. “Can I have your name, then?”
“It’s Harry,” he said. “Just Harry.”
Title: Irrepressible

Character/Pairing: Sirius/Lily
Rating & Warnings: R; for two f-bombs
Prompt: She's always had a thing for bad boys with troubled home lives.
Summary: Sirius won’t leave Lily alone.
“Go away, Black.”
“Not until you answer my question.”
“I don’t have to answer anything.”
“Come on, don’t be a bitch. Why are you always so horrible to James?”
“Watch your mouth!”
“What, gonna give me detention?”
“I’ve long ago learned the futility in that.”
“Tell me, then. The bloke’s stupid about you, Evans. Can’t you just cut him a break?”
“If you mean go out with him, then no. I don’t like him.”
“He deserves better than you, but he won’t listen to me.”
“Why are you always such a bastard?”
“Runs in the family, I guess.”
“Well,stop.”
“I don’t think you want me to stop.”
“What the hell makes you think that?”
“Because. Every time we argue like this you get all hot and bothered.”
“Right, because you make me angry!”
“I frustrate you.”
“Yes!”
“In the pants.”
“SIRIUS!”
“You didn’t deny it.”
“Go away, go away, please, I am trying to study.”
“Not until you give me a straight answer.”
“A straight fucking answer to what? I don’t even know what you’re asking me now.”
“Do I sexually frustrate you?”
“God, Sirius, honestly-“
“Do I?”
“Fuck off.”
“Not until-“
The rest of Sirius’s response was drowned in a kiss.
Title: Surprise

Rating & Warnings: G
Summary: Lily is surprised to find a certain someone in Madam Puddifoot’s.
“Ah, there’s Madam Puddifoot’s. Want to go there, Lil?”
Lily frowned at the little tea shop, whose windows were plastered in every sort of Valentine’s Day decoration imaginable. She’d never once been curious about going inside it. The thought of being constantly showered in confetti by flying cherubs made her want to throw up a little.
“Er, not really, Euan.”
Her date nudged her playfully. “Aw, come on. It’s cold, and the Three Broomsticks is packed.”
And so Lily let Euan drag her into the stuffy tea shop, where garish shades of pink and red nearly made her eyes bleed. Momentarily blind, she allowed her date to pull her into a booth near the corner, and two menus were immediately dropped into their laps by a low-flying cherub. Lily glanced down at it.
“Suppose we should get that first date thing, eh?” Euan asked. “Pomegranate cakes. Sounds good.”
Lily’s lips quirked as she thought about the fact that the Persephone myth was about being kidnapped and raped by the Lord of the Underworld. How utterly romantic. “Sure, we can get whatever you want.”
They fell into an awkward silence and Lily took the time to look around the shop. There were a few couples in here that she recognized. Her friend Mary had somehow roped her boyfriend into coming; he looked quite uncomfortable, and was eyeing the cherubs as though he expected them to suddenly start pelting him with dungbombs. Lily’s eyes traveled.
Oh. Well, this was surprising to say the least.
James Potter was sitting across the small room, tucked cozily into a booth with a pretty blonde-haired girl that Lily recognized as Melissa Dunmore, a fellow sixth-year. Melissa played on the Gryffindor Quidditch team with James, but she had never expected to see them on a date together.
“What are you staring at?” Euan asked, and Lily blinked.
“Oh-nothing.” But he had already followed her line of sight.
“Yeah, funny about Potter and Dunmore, huh? He asked her out after a Quidditch practice, so I heard. They’re such good mates, but no one ever saw them as a couple.”
“Yeah,” said Lily, and she was surprised to hear that her voice sounded a bit hollow. She had not looked away from James and Melissa, who were sitting so close together they might have been joined at the hip. For some reason, the sight of them was annoying her. When had Potter decided he fancied Dunmore? She was all sporty and good at Quidditch like he was, but she was hardly his type.
And since when were you concerned about what his type was? She asked herself. When have you cared who he takes out?
I don’t, she answered herself, but then she saw Potter lean over and kiss his date, and Lily felt like she had been slapped in the face. He’s snogging her. So what do you care? You can’t stand the bloke, right?
I don’t care, she repeated to herself, but she knew that she did.
Title: with your eyes sinking into mine
Author/Artist: perilousgard

Rating & Warnings: PG-13
Summary: She knows what’s coming, and rather than running, she welcomes him.
He’s looking at her that way and she’s looking back, unable to tear her eyes away from his, and her palms start getting sweaty, and she knows he is going to kiss her.
“Lily.” Her name on his lips is a mere breath, but it sends shivering ripples down her spine. It draws her forward, and she feels like she’s drowning. His eyes-gold and brown and green all at once-fill her vision. His hand comes up to cup her cheek, gently brushing back an errant strand of red hair with his thumb. Lily closes her eyes as she feels his breath fan over her cheek, waiting, anticipating, the feeling of his mouth on hers.
It doesn’t come.
She opens her eyes.
He’s still looking at her in that way, but he hesitates, and Lily realizes the hand cupping her cheek is sweaty, too. She reaches up and rests her own hand over it.
“What’s wrong?”
He swallows, and licks his lips once. Lily watches his tongue disappear back into his mouth. “Is it okay for me to do this? …Kiss you, I mean.”
Lily can’t help the quiet laugh. “You’re asking me?”
“Well, I didn’t want you to be angry with me for doing it if you didn’t want it.”
“James, if you don’t kiss me now I will be angry.”
They both move to close the distance, and when his lips touch hers-just the merest brush, the lightest of contacts-it’s like she’s been jolted with electricity. He makes a sound low in his throat, and the hand on her cheek moves to the back of her neck, bringing her closer to him. Lily’s pulse flutters fast and she thinks her heartbeat is so loud, he must be able to hear it.
When they finally pull away, James is wearing the look of someone who has just been Stunned. It’s adorable and makes Lily want to kiss him again, and so she does.
“Does this mean-“ James starts to pant when she breaks off again, but Lily presses a finger to his lips before he can finish.
“Yes, James, I’ll go out with you,” she says with a smile.
Title: Barside Reflections
Author/Artist: perilousgard
Team: Stag
Rating & Warnings: PG
Summary: There is someone who didn't get an invitation to the wedding.
Barside Reflections
He doesn’t get an invitation, but hears about it anyway, while down at the pub. One of Lily’s friends is chatting with the bartender as he orders another butterbeer.
“I just got it in the mail today! Lily and James, can you believe it?”
Lily. Getting married.
Getting married to him.
Severus can’t even bring himself to think the name, and instead his head becomes filled with the echoes of Lily’s voice, which he hasn’t heard now for almost two years.
“I know James Potter’s an arrogant toerag.”
“I’d never go out with him anyway, Severus. It doesn’t matter how many times he asks me.”
“He’s infuriating, I can’t stand him! What a stupid berk!”
They’d all made Severus smile, made his heart beat just a little faster when he heard them, made him think that maybe, if given enough time, he would be able to convince Lily that he was the only one who could love her the way she deserves to be loved.
He remained convinced, until the end of their seventh year, that Lily had been put under a very powerful spell that James had concocted to make her look at him the way he wanted her to look at him. How could it have been real, after all the time she had spent loathing him?
He doesn’t taste the butterbeer as it slides down his throat. He can’t stop staring at the girl, the girl who’d received an invitation to Lily’s wedding. One of Lily’s friends, a connection to her. He works his mouth, swallows. His throat feels dry from disuse.
“When is the wedding?”
The girl looks round at him, the smile fading from her mouth as she takes in his appearance. Severus wonders if the curl in her lip is because she recognizes him or because his robes haven’t been cleaned in months. “It’s going to be a very private ceremony. I’m afraid if you didn’t get an invitation, I can’t tell you.”
He lets her walk away. Severus knows Lily would not want him to show up at the ceremony. There’s a reason he didn’t get that invitation, after all.
He stares into his butterbeer and thinks of the last day he saw her, on the train ride back from Hogwarts at the end of seventh year. He thinks of her hair glowing in the sun streaming through the window and the sound of her laughter. He does not think of the frost that had darkened her green eyes when she noticed him looking into her compartment, nor the way she had strode purposefully past him once they got off the train, holding tight to James Potter’s hand.
He sits there, and thinks of her, and clutches his right forearm.
