So that was Christmas, huh? I'll admit I still don't understand what running over little old ladies with reindeer has to do with it, and I'm only a little disappointed that nobody gave me a hula hoop, but overall it was pretty nice. For one thing, I'm still not exactly sure what a hula hoop is. And even if I didn't get one, I did get a lot of other stuff to make up for it.
I got to swim yesterday, too. I think that was probably my favorite gift of the whole day.
It almost makes up for the fact that it looks like we're back to snow and freezing cold again. Good thing I've got a knitted green thing (I think it's supposed to be a hat) to keep my head warm if I have to go out today! And a new toy from Peeta to try out sometime, too.
And I hear we've got yet another holiday coming up at the end of this week? Anybody who wants to stand next to me on New Year's Eve, let me know as soon as possible. I've only got so many sides for people to stand at, and I have a feeling they're going to fill up pretty fast.
Katniss: a
dart bow, complete with goofy paper target and three suction-dart arrows.
Peeta: a
fabulous face-painting kit (they were the closest thing he could find to dyes) and
a giant foam ball about sixteen inches in diameter.
Cinna: a
foam bat (and a note guaranteeing him five free whacks to Finnick's head, free of charge).
Rue: a
foam slingshot from Finnick and a
music box from "Santa".
Johanna: a
foam axe with a balance fairly well suited for throwing.
Finnick (yes, he bought a gift for himself): a
foam trident, and god only knows where he found it. FEAR FOR YOUR LIVES.
For His Ladies: If you are female and Finnick has talked to you, you probably got a
bouquet of flowers from a local florist, delivered in a box wrapped in gold paper. Feel free to assume delivery if you fit the criteria!
