Thinking about Sheik a bit today. Wondering exactly what that thing s/he wears on her/his face/head is called.
A
Tagelmust? A cheche?
I wonder why s/he even wears it. If Zelda was good enough at magic to change her eye color from blue to red and to make her entire body look like a boy, you'd think she would be able to make her lower face look male as well.
Besides, Impa didn't feel the need to hide her face, so it seems odd that Sheik would think this was a good idea.
Ganondorf: "...why are you hiding your face?"
Sheik: "Sheikah always hide their faces?"
Ganondorf: "They do? But wasn't that Impa person a Sheikah? She never covered her face."
Sheik: "..."
Ganondorf: *suspicions increase by 10 pts*
Not disparaging the character design, which is actually incredible. That you never saw her/his face in the game lent the character an air of mystery. And every time Sheik said anything, I teared up ("The flow of time is always cruel... it's speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it..."). It was that
stupid emotional song that did it. I have a soft spot for this character.
But the face covering still makes my brain hurt when I think about it too much. Explain it to me.
