...what do you want me to say, Gwen? We saw it happen. It can't not happen.

Not this time. We can stop it now that we know exactly what's going on.

We can't just stop it. That's not how these things work. You don't know what'll happen if we start messing around with time, creating paradoxes, but I do, and. Trust me, I love Owen and Tosh, but saving them isn't worth destroying the fabric of reality to do so.

Then we need to find a way around it.

Like what, Gwen. What do you think we should do? How are we going to fix this?

I don't know, but there has to be a way.

...look. I've. I've got an idea. At least for Owen. I'm really not sure of anything for Tosh. I mean. She died in my arms, Gwen. That's not something that you can just have her fake and hope she does a good imitation.

Alright, what's your idea for Owen?

Well.

...we never did find his remains. We. We don't actually know whether he was actually still in that power plant when it went critical.

... but how could he have gotten out?

...have you met Lieutenant Commander Scott on the community yet? From Starfleet?

I have. Mostly in passing, though. I haven't been around the Enterprise crew so much. Too much going on at home.

Right. Well. I've gotten to know him, pretty well. [A benefit of not having to sleep and of being one of the most infuriatingly charming men around.]

Anyway. He's the chief engineer on the Enterprise. And he's been working on a transporter. A way to lock onto a signal, either an object or a person, and transport them through space. Only he's working on expanding that to include between worlds as well.
