Back from Italy with an even stronger love for Python. I hope to be spending some of my vacation programming now ♥ - but of course, I'll need to come up with something I want to program first too, not just throwing together something just to try out the new features I've learned about.

Florence was.. hot. Of course I tried to stay inside and in shadow most of the time, but since I also wanted to see the city, some exposure to the sun was inevitable ;) If I hadn't been there for work, I'd made sure to visit the Uffizi, but I didn't really have time to stand in a line for 2 hours to get in there. (P and I made a visit to a mini Leonardo da Vinci museum, though)

Sis arrives tomorrow, and so she can look in awe on my new mosquito bite collection. I never get bitten by mosquitoes! D: Or rather, I never get bitten by Swedish mosquitoes; apparently the Italian ones didn't get that memo. The bites don't itch, though, so at least I have that. Otherwise the one on my right eyelid would be seriously pissing me off by now.

Other:

I went grocery shopping today to refill my fridge. Behind me walked two probably really drunk guys, who talked about some "her" which I was afraid referred to me. Don't know, though, and wasn't about to ask. One of them shouted out a loud "HEIL HITLER", the other one tried to shush him down.

Once inside the store I got well away from them, but couldn't help hearing how one of them roared WHOOOORE.

They paid for their stuff and left. I wandered around aimlessly in the store for a couple of minutes, 'cause I didn't want to catch them on my way home.

Unfortunately they were still by the exit once I got there. I could understand why: The skies had opened and decided to grant us approximately one ocean-full of rain. Delivered continuously for more than 5 minutes, with no sign of letting up, before I decided to walk home anyway.

It was not pleasant, but neither was the thought of staying inside near those guys while they cursed about the weather and kicked the glass doors of the building.

I hope they were late to whatever party they were hoping to attend.
