Had a very nice and somewhat relaxing weekend in Falun.
Mum and Linda had decided that my brain wasn't broken enough, so they gave me the rest of the Utena manga (including the manga adaption of the Utena movie) as my belated birthday gift.
A lot could be said about that manga, but I'll just run around for a while and scream about Akio.
...
Yes, just pretend I did that, okay?
Also got the third season of Futurama. Anna approves of this.
..yes, yes, I gave my mother some birthday gifts too, damn, that was the second reason I went to Falun. Due to my incredibly intelligent choice of presents: DVD movies! (yes, shut up, it's boring but it's the only thing my mum ever wishes for, gah) we didn't have to watch the Eurovision Song Contest, HAHA! Instead we watched Donnie Darko, and even if that was crack and broke my brain it didn't leave me feeling suicidal which I'm afraid the "music" would have.
"Somewhat" relaxing, you might wonder? Well, yes, I played Resident Evil, too, and that game does *not* make me feel comfortable - especially not when played in the middle of the night with only the company of Linda reading Dracula.
We also managed to watch through 11 episodes of Victory Gundam, but alas, there are still 21 left before the end of this horrible series. Though episode 29 was actually.. kinda interesting. Maybe. At least we were shrieking and giggling hysterically throughout it (naked ugly-boy travelling in a small space-craft with panting dog? WTF? And the bondage bath scenes and the pressing of said ugly-boy against very naked female boobs, and then the bouncing balls even if they were only visible for like two frames, and.. aaaah, that was a weird episode.)
...and then we watched the first Slayers Movie which was absolutely ingenious and marvellous and prettiful. When compared to Victory Gundam, at least. I doubt I would say the same if my brain hadn't been tortured right before.
Before leaving Uppsala I randomly entered "The Pocket Shop" or whatever it's called and decided upon two books so I would have something to do during the journey. One of them was "ring" by Koji Suzuki. You might have heard of the movie adaption of this book, aaahaha. There were minor.. no, scratch that, there were a lot of changes between the book and the movie, but the creepyness was ever-present in the book to. Recommended! (And.. and.. damn it! Now I have to find "Spiral" and "Loop" - the other two books in the series - too!)
Almost managed to read the entire book before reaching Falun - but all of a sudden the old man sitting next to me on the train decided he wanted to talk to me. So he spent the first five minutes just rambling on how *fast* I'm reading and how impressed he was - which got kind of tiresome after the the first 3 times or so.
And then we started talking about my education programme, and.. gah, okay, he was working with computer programming too, I reckoned, but he was just ranting about C# and .net and how awful it was that I wasn't taught that in school.
Annoying geezer, STFU I WANTED TO READ MY BOOK DAMNIT!
But at least he was impressed by my l33t reading skillz.
