wadam and I did a shoot over the weekend; I'm finally getting around to showing some of the pictures.

Inspired by Ingres' Grand Odalisque and some thoughts rolling around in my head about Orientalism and the erotic gaze.
I simply love that caftan--my grandma gave it to me for the holidays and I've been dying to wear it for something. The Turkoman headdress is something my mom got me at a jewelry and gem show in Tuscon.
And now, the black hat shots. I was going to put together an androngynous look, but this is what I came up with, and I liked it enough to stick with it:
And now, on to the Red Pants, or, Who's That Familiar-Looking-Guy?
In some ways, the last set was the most challenging--I don't think I can pass well as a guy without some serious makeup (altering my facial contours, possibly some fake facial hair), but this was a fun experiment in playing with process and product in images. I think I'll raid my dad's closet when I'm home, since we're of a similar size, and see if I can come up with some snazzy '70s suit to wear for a similar shoot.
