(no subject)

I'm a little over halfway through The Innocent Man by John Grisham and... I'm at a loss for words sometimes. It just gets my blood boiling over how absolutely wrong the justice system has become. The trials were maddening beyond belief; I kept putting the book down for a day-long breather so I wouldn't start screaming at the pages.

What kills me the most is that the DA of Ada, Oklahoma, is still working. Yes, Bill Peterson, the man who pieced together a trial based on whispers and moonlight, the attorney who didn't drop the case as soon as it landed on his desk when he should have because there was no evidence whatsoever, the man who helped the police bully evidence and non-confessions out of anyone he could... this man still has his job. And people from Ada (not all, but enough) are defending his actions! What crazy world has this warped into?

I can't even say how much this disgusts me and how much I wish that there was something I could do about it. And there are people worldwide who feel the same way. Everyone all over the world is screaming for this man's dismissal from the DA position and from the bar, except the one place it counts.

Somehow, I just feel that the injustice is perpetuating itself.

sucky stuff
