My piece is finally up in the gallery, I've worked on this sucker for the entire semester.
One project for the whole semester, damn.
I sure hope I get a decent grade on this...
Now I have to write up an artist statement about it, ugh those are the worst. I think there should be a course on writing artist statements and proposals, also, how to get grant money. That is what would really be useful. Maybe, a "how to snag a person with a full time job and benefits so you can eat and have health insurance and get them to marry you, if you chose to make art your life" course. Now that would be useful.
I'm thinking I should have a glass or two of wine and write up a completely ambiguous statement that doesn't explain anything at all and only ends up leaving you more confused.
Yess yeeesss this is my plan.
Another note:
I need to sell art, I can't keep letting this crap pile up (I only call it crap so that the parting process is easier on me) but no loaning out work, I learned my lesson there. I need to sell stuff, that way if the person who buys it ends up destroying it I can't have any qualms. Perhaps I should contact that Tributary gallery...free radicals? DAAC? Oh well, that's something to think about for the summer, which I WILL BE SPENDING HERE! I'm still so excited about that. I wonder if the campus connector runs over the summer?
Enough rambling.
I need to write...
more nonsense,
only, pretending to be professional nonsense.
