The bar exam is over!

Thank God. I pray I never have to take that shit again!

After the exam today, I planned to just come home and veg out. I was chatting with a few people online, when Shonda messaged me like "yo I need a drink!!!!" Wouldn't you know, your resident drunkard has a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in the fridge.. so she came over after work and we sipped a bit. I don't think I've seen her since May. Started talking and she's thinking about doing her PhD in Europe... so of course I got excited and we started throwing ideas around. I told her about some of the things I'd found, and some of the pitfalls I've found also. Then more talking and more talking... and we decided to be roommates.

Her lease is up in August, I pretty much planned to leave here... I just need to find a *permanent* job. I started the temp hunt today, so hopefully I can start working in the next two weeks or so. Thing is, I don't know what I want to do... I'm not feeling a traditional legal job. I dunno if its cos after the last two months of looking at the law I'm really not into it.. or that my goals have changed since '04 when I started school.. or that I was never really into it in the first place and just confused... either way, I need some paychecks to come in. I don't have the option to stay here b/c the understanding was that I'd move out after the bar... and when I crunched the numbers, I can't afford to live by myself.

So we decide to go out to dinner. I didn't want to do anything fancy b/c I hadn't planned on leaving at all. We went to a French restaurant up in Bethesda and had a really great dinner. Our waiter was so FREAKIN HOT omg... so I started speaking the extremely limited French that I know to him and he became our BFF. Hooked us up with some really good house wine and this amazing dessert. I think it was Brioche with a bit of ice cream in the middle instead of the cream, with real melted chocolate on top. At first we were a lil distressed b/c we're both trying to lose weight... but it was just too good to resist. So worth it though omg! So then the waiter (I'm so bad with remembering their names) asked me about my trip to France, where we planned to move in Europe yada yada. He's from Morrocco and if they grow 'em there like that, I need to book my flight ASAP.

I'm in this weird place right now where I've accomplished a lot, but there's so much on the horizon... and by me constantly looking ahead I'm not in the now. Like I should've had something lined up so that Monday I'm working and saving money for the move. Or I should have eked out a plan to move abroad by now. Or done more networking if I'm gonna stay here... whenever I have too many decisions at one time, I freak and don't make any. Which is so counter-productive and gets me in trouble every time.

Since both of us are on the same page as far as living and saving money (she starts a Master's program at Boston U. next fall), things should be easier. We agreed to get cheap-o (yet chic) furniture, and try to save as much as possible for Fall 08 when both of us will be moving on.

So much to look forward to!!
