Cover Coincidence
This is an occasional post commenting on cover similarities.
Recently, I've read a couple of blog reviews of Lurlene McDaniel's newest book, Reaching Through Time: Three Novellas. 240 p. Random House Children's Books, October, 2011.
Basically, it's a time-travel love story.
When I saw it, I thought it looked familiar and thought of an earlier book of Suzanne Weyn's, which pubbed in 2008:
Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn. 304 p. Scholastic Inc., 2008.
Publisher synopsis: From prehistory to the present, theirs was a love for the ages. It starts with a fight in a cave over an elusive green jewel . . . and then travels over time and lives to include Egyptian slaves, Greek temples, Massachusetts witch trials, Civil War battlefields, Paris on the eve of World War II, America in the 1960s . . . and a pair of modern-day teenagers. Not quite identical, but nearly. The plots aren't quite identical, but nearly.
Another blog noted just how many covers have featured kissing teens lately, but, I can't remember whose it was, but she's right!
