Hello, Cats and Kittens, Pigeons and Doves!
So-
Things are well.
I've been going to bed early because Maddy has school at an unfathomable hour of earliness* and it's easier to raise a corpse than it is to get me and Maddy out of bed without ample beauty sleep.
(*Complete Hyperbole. )
My One Night Out A Week is half predictable tradition and half serendipity. I ALWAYS go straight from work to Firehouse for Bloody Marys with friends... where I end up after that is anyone's guess and cannot even be anticipated before it happens. I say that as a disclaimer to anyone who randomly runs into me on a Saturday night- I probably rolled out of bed that morning at the last possible second, worked six hours, and then started the alcohol consumption at 4pm without bothering to go home and primp. Excuse me, my disheveled head, and my inebriation.
The kids are even more precious and brilliant and hilarious than a brain of normal size can imagine. I'm really enjoying every minute I have with them, with the exception of when they follow me into the bathroom. IS A MINUTE'S PEACE TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR? I'D LIKE TO PEE IN PRIVATE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Maddy is living every day like she's qualifying for the title of World's Biggest Smartass Cynic, and Brady's sweet optimism is the perfect foil. I actually enjoy watching them engage in hand-to-hand combat when a fight over the remote control gets a little heated. I'm right there in the middle of it, saying, "HEY KIDS, SETTLE DOWN! STOP THAT! GO TO YOUR ROOM.... AND GET YOUR PIRATE SWORDS, THIS WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER IF YOU WERE HITTING EACH OTHER WITH THOSE!" Hey, before you start looking up CPS in the phonebook, I'm totally kinda almost kidding.
Work is only mildly annoying, which is the best I can hope for.
The love life is splendiferous!!! I would tell y'all all about it but you would be vomiting by the second sentence, it's that good.
Well, just wanted to check in. It's amazing how I can feel a sense of connectedness by typing something and not actually having any interaction. I wonder what this means, pyschologically.
IIIIIiiiiiiinteresting.
So, how are all of you?
