I've spent the past year and a half complaining about this part of the state (or rather, Berkeley County), but then this morning I gave a presentation about it in my Architecture class and couldn't stop talking about it. This is pleasant, but it really just makes me incredibly eager to get back to Charleston and start taking in all the architectural history of that most wonderful of towns. Speaking of which...

I'm taking a 6:30am MARC train to DC next Wednesday (the 13th), arriving at Union Station at 8:30am, then leaving from there aboard the 11:10am Amtrak to Charleston. Should be back in Chuckton by 9pm, a week from this evening.

I'm actually kind of hoping I won't be working over Christmas break. I'd like to take the time to write some deed chains or HABS reports for some of my favorite buildings downtown. The history! The history! Won't someone think of the history?!
