I would like it very much...

if...and cut for spoilers

someone could explain the scene between Sofie and Iris, and what it was that Iris saw in her vision. Was that Sofie's mom bent over a table? Was it the real rape scene versus the surreal rape Sofie envisioned in the trailer? Or was it something from Iris' past? Was she raped? Could Iris and Justin have been children born from gypsy parents? What do we know of Management before he became a soldier? Anything?

We finally got to see Scudder in crazy evil mode. That was pretty cool. And disgusting. And cool. And his near escape followed by Justin's backseat surprise was really, really well filmed.

I've a real soft spot for Jonsey and Libby. That relationship felt awfully out of the blue at first, but now I feel pretty strongly that it was a good direction to go in for those characters, though it's lessened the good opinion I had of Rita Sue considerably.

The Lodz/Ruthie conundrum is interesting, though I can never much stomach it when the bearded harlot gets some, no matter who she's getting it from. I did love her reaction, though, to discovering Ruthie's naked body in her bed. That's true love, man. Guess she wasn't just in it for Lodz's old man love saggy. She loved him for his mind! Ah, Lodz. Good to see him again. And his comment about Lilah soon seeing him in the flesh...that's certainly food for thought.

Libby and Samson's scene was touching.

Iris continues to confuse the heck out of me. Was she planning on stabbing Justin to death with utensils? Wha? Huh?

Next week Sofie discovers the death mask. And seems to live to tell about it. Could be Justin doesn't want to screw her into Crazy Town, but would prefer taking her to the altar? Or perhaps he learns of this Omega angle before Samson and his gang do. Sofie, are you evil? Are you good? Are you neutral territory? Can you be used for good or used for evil?

I'm also wondering if she's not entirely aware of who Justin is. We've seen scenes where her mother is talking to her. Perhaps her mother is talking to her all the time in off camera moments. Perhaps her mother led her to find Justin for a purpose.

Ah, the Carnivale to Ben's rescue. Say it is so!

Two more episodes. How sad. Does anyone know if there has been talk of a third season, yet? Or are we now under the impression that Knauf was only greenlit for one more season, and the this finale really is *the* finale? It just seems that we've been introduced to certain plot twists (Iris possibly being against Justin all this time) for which their conclusions feel a bit rushed. Like, I wasn't expecting Justin to call them out so quickly. And I get the feeling that Knauf had intended that unexpected turn of events to happen much later on in the series. Feels like he's been asked to finish it all now.
