The Great Underneath
Hearth
Heart under the earth
Is not made of stone and
Is not made of fire and
Is not made of blood and
Is not made of hope.

He is made of love and
He is made of Desire.

Desire swallowing up hope and
Desire swallowing up blood and
Desire swallowing up fire and
Desire swallowing up stone.

Desire flows as magma
Heart under the earth
Hearth

Desire swallowing up desires.
When is the fulfillment?

“I want you.”

The little desires will not be taken away until they are voluntarily surrendered to the greater Desire.
“All-consuming desire”-or not.
When there is no Desire, then the great empty longing is covered over with the crusts of petty desires, and the shell is empty of life
and then there is no end of WAITING-----
WAITING-----
the long lonely longing
see the funnel of Desire
turning, opening:
the Giant face is a façade
the hearth underneath is a vessel, a channel
the Desire is long and patient, more patient than
the patience of long forming:
transforming

The battle of desires, battle of desires:
voluntary submission of desires to a higher Desire:
