Ho. Ly. Shit. There's someone who theorizes about this stuff? This exact stuff? And someone from the 70s? (Not to be a huge dork, but I think they did some superb theorizing in the 70s, like Theodore Roszak and The Making of a Counterculture, which I read when I was doing my humanities project, o remember the days, and it knocked my socks off. People really noticing the world and thinking about why humans do what they do! EEEEEE!)
And religion and politics? Um, the two areas of life that I think are connected and no one else does? (K. and I were discussing at lunchtime when we first realized that the Bible talks about justice which equals politics and economics. He said college, I said junior high or earlier, and I proceeded to mock classmates of mine in seminary who were making the realization in their mid-twenties. Then I took it back because I do horribly at acknowledging the fact that my experience does not have to be everyone else's experience. And, like, being charitable about it.)
