I'm not in OWbN anymore...I'm not in the Cam anymore either...
let me pass on my own little thoughts, share if you want...toss away if you want...all up to you...

Any rules in addition to the core book should exist for clarification and unification purposes. It does no good if every chronicle within OWbN plays a particular rule differently. Many of the rules are vague, they are designed to be...but in a large scale game like OWbN, clarifications are neccicary.

How does one stop the twinks? Not with rules...
With the storyteller...
To use your example about the kindred with a garou lover and a kindred baby...
"My kindred's garou lover and I are using in order to get pregnant."
"NO"
"why not, I have this and the rules say this and that"
"because it's stupid. Because it violates the spirit of the game. The answer is no, and while I'm at it, the pack of your Garou lover finds out and kills him for being tainted, and are now looking ofr you."

"I wanna blow up a city block! I have 24 blocks of C-4 and a demolitions of 5."
"No!"
"but there's no reason I can't do this"
"it violates the spirit of the game."

This website is about Requiem (and the cam), but the simple concept behind it can be applied to any game.

Thats actually one of my big contentions. But people on council seem to think that no ST can handle their job. So they pass sweeping resolutions to govern all instead of the problem children

This is the reason I LOVE a good troupe game. You can have the game that you and your players want with out the retirement home ridden old women watching Operah politics of people who have never been in your game and never will. When you allow politicing OOC about your game and/or network of games it takes the fun out of the experience and it gives others that know nothing about your players or your game th epower to make decisions that affect both.

Hence.....Faith no larpie....hahaha. No good troupe games in the valley and won't do the cam or owbn thing.

it's a shame really that good players are turned off by orgs in general. But as general Patton said once

"If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking."

THe OOC drama was totally worth the level of interaction and RP you get with the org. It's a trade off really...

There are things that happen in the big orgs and networked games that would never and could never happen in troupe games.

In the orgs...I can create a neonate who was a favored ghoul to ventrue elder from X town. I can network within clan and sect. Sure to a small degree that can be done in troupe games...but one night I recall being the best example of a global game was this:

There was a prince, named Argent, who was a rather bad prince. While outwardly conservative and traditional, he broke many traditions and Elysium was not sacred or safe with him. THe nearby Anarchs planned a great coup with the help of some unhappy local Cammies. 2 Archons, 10 elders, 4 Princes showed up, along with their retinues....CHaracters came in from San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Nevada (I think), and Utah. A grand amount of politicing, status waving, and perfectly machiavellian politics were played out that night.

It was Amazing. And like nothing I've ever seen possible in local troupe games.
It made the copious amounts of drama that came with it (player of prince whining about it, outside players accusing ST of protecting prince character, etc) tolerable...because those few hours were totally cool.

I can understand that...the cam did that for a long time...

No...not all storytellers can do their jobs...many storytellers want to, but can't or won't becuase they don't feel that the org will support them in this matter.

What ya'll need is a good system to remove bad STs from above and reward/support good STs in their jobs.

Not knowing more about the current inner workings of OWbN I can't begin to draw up a scetchy idea...

I totally agree with that statement. And I'd go so far as to say there needs to be something in place to place corrective action on abusive games.

Some games people just don't have problems with, others seem to continually breed problems

I've got a few ideas brewing. Let me see if I can come up with something a bit solid to suggest...

I hate complaining if I can't offer solutions, so yeh.
