Which it pretty much is. Valley by Night is actually out of OWbN.
I remember having the conversation over a year ago about the possibility of VbN actually getting the boot. I argued that it simply wasn't going to happen. That it didn't matter what sort of problems arouse from that game that bleeding heart liberal types would come to it's rescue.
I know this because I've seen it before. I've watched problem chatters, players, games, storytellers, etc all constantly get slaps on the wrist where I've played in the past. Any manner of excuse would be given to excuse the problem away.
"Thats just the way he/she is"
"What about the players?"
"It's just a game"
"I can see your point but I see his/hers as well...."
Etc etc etc.
There's a problem with that flawed logic: It's flawed. Especially if you can understand the stance of someone addressing the problem. Which is why I fully expected to hear some of these same remarks during both voting phases.
I did see some of them but not nearly as many as I'd thought I'd see. Although I did see many of the typical denial symtoms coming from players and staff of that game. But therein lies the problem. People not wanting to prove to an org they joined that they are working within it's set parameters while also being mislead by others to think something completely different.
If you're asked to turn in your database of characters, you do so. Especially after the second time and a binding non-disclosure agreement is offered to you by the staff investigating you.
If questioned about characters/items/issues/ in your game and you know you're under investigation, you prove it. Anything less makes you subject to further opinions and findings that have nothing to stand against them.
How does this all relate?
I stood my ground and stated they'd never be forced out of the Org. I was proven wrong in a very big way. Not only did they not defend themselves with proof, but they dug their heads into the sand.
My usual prophetic ability to predict player/ST reactions foiled by inactivity and overall incompetance.
Darn.
But thats now in the past and almost a week old. Where does that leave us as an Org? Well I'm against any motion that would simply wipe out IC history in Phoenix. It doesn't make any sense to do so. We might not like it, but it happened and it happened as a part of the Org.
So now the real task will be for those left to pick up the pieces and form a cohesive event or story that takes VbN's departure into account.
