MLE baffled by disturbing murder trend!

The body of wizarding barrister Ernest Macmillan was discovered in the Thames river on New Years Day. Sources within the Ministry say this may or may not be related to a client Macmillan recently took on, but have declined the request to identify this client. The investigation into his death is ongoing. Information from the Ministry at this juncture has been spotty at best. They are being extraordinarily tight-lipped, though the Ministry has released the information that Macmillan was murdered by way of the Avada Kedavra. His body was discovered in the early hours of the new year by a muggle before the MLE was alerted and took over the crime scene.
Macmillan was recently promoted within the firm of Locke, Stockton, and Barrel. Sources within the firm state that Macmillan was the newest and brightest star on the team. He had recently been placed on a rather large case involving Ministry personnel. The victim was a pureblood and the son of wizarding barrister, Nigel Macmillan, and former society princess Elaine (Burke) Macmillan. Coworkers describe Macmillan as hardworking and affable. Friends describe Ernest "Ernie" Macmillan as serious, but funny, loyal, and lovable once you got through his no-nonsense exterior. One of those friends includes Hannah Abbott the former fiance of murder victim Wayne Hopkins. Hopkins and Macmillan were classmates and housemates at Hogwarts. This reporter wonders if this is a mere coincidence. Current friends and boyfriends of Miss Abbott should take precautions.
