Dream~003

Waka had always prided himself on his foresight. Unfortunately, though he could spiritually predict some things, the physical future was a bit more messier.

It was a cold, snowy day in Somarium, and Waka made sure to prepare for it. He had on a thick coat, and these strange pants the residents called 'jeans'. Though they were not as comfy as his old clothes, he enjoyed the warmth. He is pulled from his thoughts by a familiar white wolf.

"Is cherie having fun~?" Waka said as he smiled. The Sun Goddess replied with a flick of the head and a happy bark. The prophet nodded, giving her a pat on the head. That's when he noticed how cold Amaterasu must be. Even though her reflector provided some heat, it wasn't enough to keep the poor wolf from shivering there in the snow. He stood, while patting Amaterasu's head, and tried to think of way to warm the diety. An idea came to him. He foraged through his travel bag, and pulled out a long Oina scarf. Amaterasu's head cocked, mouth slightly agape as if to ask, "What's that?"

"It's a scarf, baby." Waka said, as he unfurled the scarf. It was much longer than he thought, and it would certainly not fit comfortably around Amaterasu's neck. He could've shorten if he had his sword, but he decided to leave it at home. He did not trust the cold weather agaisnt his weapons.

Waka had another idea. He bundled one end of the scarf around his neck and wrapped the other end around Amaterasu's neck.

"There! Magnifique, qui?" Waka smiled down to his companion. Amaterasu answered with a thump of a happy (and now perfectly warm) tail. Content, the pair walked down the street together. He was assured that nothing would go wrong with this plan of his. He could obviously handle anything, and what could be threatening about a quiet, little street?

As they made their way down the street, a car drove by. Amaterasu's head suddenly perked up. Even if the soul inside the wolf was one of the highest deities in heaven, the mortal body still had some powerful instincts. One that Waka wouldn't discover until the car passed by and Amaterasu took off after it.

"Ma cher-!" Was all the prophet could say before being forcefully dragged across the street into the slippery snow. Amaterasu, hearing the strangled cry, stopped and turned her head. Of course, the laws of motion apply even to the Gods, and Waka, still slipping across the surface, crashes into the stunned wolf. The duo, rolling as a mass of scarf and snow, collide into a soft bank of snow beside the road. When they finally stop, Waka untangles himself from the mess.

"Amaterasu?" He asks. The diety's head pops out of the pile of snow. Waka didn't need to speak wolf to know what she was thinking.

'Let's do that again!'
