[She looks up--and up at the lady, a complete picture of an innocent little girl. She's obviously not a drone--as she still exists--but Porom isn't about to trust her right off the bat.]

Hello, ma'am. Do you know if my brother Palom is around?

[She heads up the stairs to talk to her brother.]

Did you hear the message over the phones? Something's gone very wrong with the town.

Yeah. I also looked out the window and noticed it was snowing in the middle of summer.

And it looks like our darling 'father' has vanished, too.

[She rolls her eyes at his sarcasm.]

My "mother" drone is gone, too. And the policeman's message is all garbled, too.

[She bites her lip.]

I think we ought to do something, but I'm not sure what. Do you think they're deliberately trying to throw us?

Y'know, I don't think so . . . I think they really did make a mistake.

[pause]

And if they did . . . Seems like a good time to, uhh. You know. A lot of people are talking about making good of this opportunity to find out what they can.
