Except it isn't, because the next episode is 'One of Us', and you guys know I go a little crazy on Juliet episodes. So instead, I'm picking apart a scene from' The Variable' with discussion and my thoughts. I haven't been able to get it out of my head all day. If you're following me on tumblr this will be a repeat post, but for those of you who only follow me here...
I love Juliet. I do. But at what point did she stop being rational here? He called Kate Freckles and suddenly she's giving up codes and James is looking at her like she's crazy. I don't think he even knows what's going on, but the look on his face says that he knows she's upset with the situation. He doesn't realize that it's Kate. He won't until it's too late and Juliet's really lost her shit and she's agreeing with Jack.
He should have given her the fucking engagement ring the minute he knew Kate was back. Told Juliet that Freckles doesn't matter. Because she doesn't, and you and I know that she doesn't but somewhere in Juliet's head it does, and whether that's because her parents couldn't make it, or because she didn't make it in her own marriage, I don't know.
My heart just breaks for her, and I want to tell her in this scene to just stop and breathe and remember who she's been with for the past three years.
