There's this old Chinese superstition. Parents would give their children derogatory nicknames like "pig" or "stupid", hoping to disguise their value from evil spirits, protect them from harm.
Which is to say: we started talking in July and haven't stopped, and I'm a little afraid to admit I think it's going well.
