(no subject)
Let's see...weekend. Friday night was fun, I went out to dinner&movie with Beck and Jaimie. Taken was pretty decent. Liam Neeson was a kick-ass Daddy. I hope if I get kidnapped in Paris my Dad will come save me like that. Saturday didn't really do anything except work at night. I was pre-closer and I got to help train a new partner, Esmeralda. It made me really happy because I totally remember what it was like to be the new person, but I realize that I am not new. I've been at Starbucks for 9 months now, and I know what I'm doing. With the crappy economy I've been worrying about my job because I love it, but for now it seems to be secure.
Sunday I spent most of the day doing my painting homework. I had to do the same still life twice, in two different color palettes. I'm happy with how they turned out, for the most part. I'm finding that I really like oil painting after only a couple classes, and I'm seriously considering choosing painting as my concentration now instead of drawing. We'll see how it goes, i have to choose by the time I register for next semester.
How is it that I ended up with really long/busy Mondays two semesters in a row?
I have 3 classes, but it feels like more because 2 of them are studios. Color theory was fun but tedious today. Jewelry was more demo in a room that felt like a sauna so the class just dragged on. After that I had to go to an info session for Subject Area Teacher Certification. Blah blah blah mostly stuff I knew, but oh hey, I can probs graduate in spring 2011 like the rest of my class because I'm on top of things. Cool. I walked around campus a bit after the meeting because i had time before French class, and the air felt absolutely wonderful. I can't wait for spring. French was great, this class is basically a review for me. I've heard it all before.
Went right to dinner after class with the core crew, Beck, Court& Becca, then Becca and I hit up the gym. I've been trying to be productive tonight, getting all my Study Abroad app stuff together because I have a meeting with the advisor tomorrow morning. Almost done with all the paperwork,yay!
Ok what else did I want to say...
oh, right. stuff to look forward to:
-Beirut concert on Wednesday!
-Kels coming home this weekend
-Country Pancake House with Meg&Kels on Sunday
-Getting my Teacher Ed Program interview over with next week
Did I mention that I'm really happy with my classes this semester? Well I am.
