Hermione ambled into the kitchen, having had a sudden urge to eat some vanilla low fat yogurt. Her eyes immediately got caught on what looked like a book she'd never read before, sitting on the table, and her path was diverted.
"What's this?" She asked to the empty room, picking up the journal-type book and flipping it over in her hands. "Not another present from Ron, I hope."
Opening to the middle, Hermione began to read the first paragraph her eyes fell on:
So why can't I be selfish, just this once? Why is my first instinct to back off and make everyone happy other than myself? Maybe it's not that... maybe it's just that Ron and Hermione have been the only stable family I've ever had, and being between them is ripping me apart.
