“Johnny? What are you doing up here?” Reed came to the top of the building where Johnny was leaning on the edge overlooking the city. “Susan said you might be up here so I thought I’d check. Are you okay?” It wasn’t often Reed and Johnny had these chats alone but while Reed was here he thought he’d make the effort. Maybe he could help.

“I come up here sometimes just to watch the city. It’s not like I’m scared of heights.” He smirked and turned to face Reed. “I’m good just thinking about everything at the moment. Stuff with Angel and the kids.” Johnny laughed thinking about how much he sounded like a worried father. Three grown up future kids back to see you was a bit of a shock he was still getting used to. When Reed sat on the edge of one of the garden stones he took it as Reed was prepared to listen so Johnny continued what he was going to say. “I love having the kids here but I’m always trying to set the best example for them and I’m not exactly the best person to do that. I break rules, I do my own thing. I’ve never had a parent I can learn from. I just have no idea what I’m doing. By the looks of them they turned out fine but I don’t want to disappoint. Angel doesn’t seem mind, she’s pregnant now and sometimes I look at her bump and I think about what happened before. I don’t think I could handle losing another child Reed.”

Reed sighed and looked up at Johnny, his elbows resting on his knees. “Johnny, Angel is pregnant yes and you’ve seen what comes of that. You’ve got three amazing kids calling you dad wanting to spend time with you. You’ve got Angel who’s happy with being pregnant and loves you like Crystal never did. You’ve got nothing to be afraid of.”

Johnny heard what he was saying but still felt something wasn’t right. At the same time he knew he was over thinking everything. “You know the other day Tyler Drake came up to me and wanted to ask if he could marry my daughter. I told him he wasn’t ready for it because if CJ is anything like me he’ll probably scare her off. Not to mention what if she starts wanting kids? Do I look like a grandpa to you?” Before Reed could say anything Johnny pointed to the grey streaks either side of Reeds hair. “You’re older than me so don’t go there.”

“Johnny I never thought I’d tell you to relax but you need too. Enjoy your wife being pregnant, have fun doing what you’re doing and let your kids find their own way. Maybe talk to CJ and find out how she feels about the Tyler thing?”

Johnny sighed. “You’re right. I’m having a lot of suckish issues. I just need them fixed.”

“Then do something about it Johnny.”
