Yesterday morning, I was on the phone with Dad straightening out some stuff about his extended unemployment benefits. Now, I was under the belief that Dad probably got that job with Shaw Flooring down in Alabama. Then I heard he had applied to a few other places. Either way, I just figured that Mom and Dad had no plans on coming back home ever. And you know, fine with me. Hunter and I were able to make ends meet up here. (I'm still looking for a second job so I can have a little extra money and things won't be so tight up here.) And it's made me more confident that I can indeed make it on my own.
Then right as I got to work yesterday, I got a voicemail message on my cell from Dad.
Roadway called him up and offered his job back. Dad says Mom will be back home by next week. He didn't say anything about his whereabouts or whatever.
Yeah! How about that! And he just got approved for extended unemployment benefits, too!
It'll be good for them to be back home. I have no idea what they're going to do about Grandma Cozie's house down there. They'll probably hang on to it and go back down for the winter or whatever. Frankly, I think Dad should try to sell it at the very least. But I don't know. With the way things look down near the Gulf Coast......yeah. They're cleaning up the oil spill down there little by little, but I think it may be a while before tourism and business returns to normal. It's kind of like he's stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Besides, I really, REALLY miss Bo. :D
*tangent* One more day of work, and VACATION TIME!!!!!! I have no major plans for vacation. I may go up to Chicago one day. I'll probably get around to doing that yard sale. And I plan to seriously get moving on my book.
