"Rock of Love: Charm School" quickie recaps/commentary x3!!

Dec 25, 2008 19:18

I never got around to the recaps for the previous two episodes of "Charm School," and I don't think I'll do them either. I just haven't had the energy or time to do so. But some thoughts about the previous two episodes.

The episode when Jessica and Kristy Jo got eliminated....Jessica didn't need "Charm School." She just wanted an excuse to try to win the money. All she really needs is a good dose of self-confidence, or maybe a self-help book. What killed me was how she acted so upset when Heather told her she had so much going for her and how Heather wished she could be more like her, and she's all, "But....but I can be a trainwreck like you girls are!" Uhm....oh-kaaaay....

Kristy Jo was just filler. And she wasn't showing any progress. She had a good argument for why she wanted to win the money that I could empathize with (college education has been put off because she can't get financial aid and doesn't qualify for a student loan), but she just wasn't really showing any progress.

Lacey. Can't. SING!!!!! Your daddy can spend all the money he can to get you a music career, but he can't buy you talent. And oh yeah, don't get me started on her phony-baloney bullshit with making nicey-nice with the rest of the girls after Brandi C. got eliminated. She realized that none of these girls would play nice with her now that her two allies were gone, so she had to start seriously kissing ass and be all, "I'm going to be good! I'm turning over a new leaf!" Know what it reminds me of?:

The next episode...WTF was Heather's damage, man?! Her elimination was a surprise to me because I heard spoilers that indicated she would win. But I think Heather brought on her own elimination. With her, I feel it was "one step forward, two steps back." Either that, or she was going through weed withdrawals and really getting jumpy/paranoid. There was no need for her to jump Destiney's shit about her love life. So what if Destiney had a couple of hookups while on "I Love Money"? It's the fact that she had some random hookups that probably didn't mean much of anything to her. (The quality of the sex, not the quantity that matters.) Frankly, that was a stupid episode to watch, and I felt it was a hard one to make because they had to start some sort of drama for the purpose of eliminating somebody.

She was also getting too cocky. I about shot juice out of my nose when I saw what her t-shirt design was. I didn't like ANY of those shirts, to be honest. I don't dig Ed Hardy, or any of the stuff Christian Audigier does. All of that Ed Hardy shit is the new Von Dutch. I did agree when Brandi M. said Lacey's shirt looks like something you could sell through PETA.

Oh yeah, Lacey's shirt design. What a joke. She's going on and on about how she's such an animal rights activist, and how she's getting more into human rights. You know, because she's turned over a new leaf and is going to be "good Lacey" now. How long did anyone think that would last? Really?

Of course Destiney won that challenge. She was the only one wearing an Ed Hardy shirt. Suck up much?

The final episode....I can see why Sharon brought Brandi C., Heather and Megan back. But let's be honest. She just wanted to stir up shit with Brandi M. and Megan, especially after she found out Brandi M. lied about being allergic to that retarded dog! Brandi C. and Destiney had put aside their problems, and everyone is so over the Lacey/Heather shit.

Speaking of Lacey...oh yeah. The charity challenge brought out her true colors. And that wasn't the right way to go about collecting for charity. Know the saying "you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar"? If someone doesn't want to donate, you don't try to guilt trip them by being a shit-head. You just forget it and move on to asking the next person. (That's how I've been able to earn all of that money for the MDA/March of Dimes/Red Cross/NWI Food Bank.) How Lacey handled it was NOT very charming of all, and it certainly showed that she had NOT changed. (I will be interested to see how much Lacey-hate there will be at the reunion episode, however.)

Megan, Megan, Megan...gawd, could she have look any more like a WHORE in downtown LA wearing that skimpy dress, showing off her tits and ass and va-jay-jay? And her efforts to sabotage Brandi M. backfired, which made me laugh heartily. Brandi M. hustled, God bless her.

Speaking of Megan.......who else here heard about her and Sharon, of all people, getting into a physical altercation at the reunion episode taping?!! I think I might have been the first person to leave Riki Rachtman a comment asking about it on his MySpace page. And I guess he put up a blog about it, then he took it down almost immediately. He put up a new one saying he wasn't allowed to comment about it (although he would LOVE to), but I found it interesting that he put up as his MySpace headline "TEAM SHARON." Yeah, he detested Megan. Like I said, I can't wait until the reunion episode. Hunter said 51 Minds and VH1 are going to great lengths to avoid any of that getting into the reunion episode, but I can't imagine why. People will want to see that!

At the final elimination....might I say that Riki was looking mighty fine in that black brocade-looking jacket? (Yeah, he's hot. For an older guy. Too bad he's married. And too bad I have a BF.)

Yeah, I didn't think Destiney was going to win, especially after hearing a month ago how Destiney was doing "appearances" at strip clubs again. Because what "Charm School" winner goes back to stripping? I think Brandi M. was lucky that she won, because she had been on the "expelsion" carpet nearly every elimination time, which tips you off even more how scripted this stuff really is.

Overall....I liked the "Flavor of Love Charm School" much better in the end.

bring on the bret, too much tv
