hawaii: days 6 and half of 7
YESTERDAY:
i woke up at 8 thinking i would be the last one out of bed.. but actually i was first. from there we walked to the International Marketplace (for the billionth time since ive been here) and got some semi-okay japanese food. wait, was it chinese? i dont remember. aaanyway... then from there we came back to the condo and SLEPT for hours.. and it felt good. when i first got here i was so opposed to sleeping.. i thought that all sleeping should occur while on the beach. but this time it was very nice. i woke up at 3:30ish, got ready, and my mom and i took the bus to the Ala Moana shopping center. we looked around for a little while... i had to return a pair of pants that i bought a few days ago at Old Navy because they were too big :/ they seemed to fit perfectly in the dressing room! and i loved them.. ::sigh:: thennnn we ate some mexican food.. ay carumba! and shopped around for about half an hour more. a man tried to pick me up.. lol this was the converstation:
(i walk into a charm store and the man greets me)
"hello, how are you?"
me: "im great, how are you?"
him: "fantastic. are you looking for anything in particular?"
me: "no, just a souvenir or something. im here on vacation."
him: "oh cool! from where?"
me: "maine.. its so much nicer down here!"
him: "maine? where is that?"
me: "it is the most eastern state in the US.. pretty far out there"
him: "oh.. ive never heard of it."
me: "yeah its pretty rurual.. its past new york by about 600 miles"
him: "oh wow i didnt think it got any more east than that... i bet it took longer to fly here from there than it would from Israel"
me: "haha yeah its about 14 hours... so you're from Israel?"
him: "yep. so have you been to any night clubs yet?"
me: "oh um... no actually"
him: "well there is this one called _____ (i forgot the name hehe) that me and my friends go to.. its pretty awesome. you're welcome to.. join us if you'd like."
me: "well thank you"
--- 5 minutes later ---
him: "::cough:: so where is maine again?"
me: "haha by canada.. sort of. its hard to explain i guess"
him: "so how long are you here?"
me: "until.. oh.. friday? yeah friday"
him: "nice.. long vacation. so.. are you interested in coming with me to the club?"
me: "well.. erm... i um.. dont think im old enough actually..."
him: "OH oh oh... how old are you?"
me: ".. seventeen"
him: "oh no then you're not old enough."
me: "yeah... sorry."
--- 2 awkward minutes later ---
me: "well i should go find my mom now.. it was nice talking to you"
him: "yeah, nice to meet you. enjoy your stay"
me: "thanks"
(i leave the store... biting my fingernails)
HAHA. well.. i thought it was funny.
from there my mom and i took the bus to a 711 so she could meet a lovely couple interested in renting their condo to us. what i mean by that is that they were willing to kick some other family out of the condo so we could use it. yeah. these people were.. borderline insane. lol they said they had grandkids in Maine, and when we asked where they replied by a blank stare and an ".. i dont know". ???!??!? lol yah it was funny. and we also saw a bum flashing money at us trying to get us to sleep with him. then, after we obviously denied that offer, he pulled out the BIGGEST joint i have ever seen and asked if we had a match! what a creepo! haha in the meantime Tim was picking up his two sisters, mother, and brother in law at the airport.. they're here now. we got back to the hotel... then tim wanted to go get some dinner at a place called "teddys bigger burgers". so i went with him cus he is a total baby.. too afraid to go alone. because of all the new peopel staying with us i got stuck sleeping on the couch. no, actually i couldnt even sleep. i got stuck rolling around on the couch trying to sleep :S ooooh well.
TODAY
i woke up at 4 to the sound of.. people. people leaving to go to wal*mart.. very early in the morning. i took over my moms bed and slept there until about 8.. then got ready and went to waikiki beach by 10. AND GUESS WHAT I DID!! I WENT SURFING!!! YIPEEEE oh how i love surfing. i surfed until i couldnt feel my arms anymore! :-D it made my day. ahhh.. so much fun. after a few hours we came back and got some lunch.. and now im pretty much just sitting here. idk what the night has in store for us.. tims relatives wanna go walk the streets tonight (which i am TOTALLY up for) and see the street shows and a hula show at the International Marketplace. yipeee! tim also promised to take me to Planet Hollywood; the chances of him following up on that offer: a million to one. :P between now and friday we are going on the dinner cruise again, kayaking to a neighbor island, turtle-watching, and snorkeling in Hanauma bay. hopefully, when my arms recover, i will go surfing a little more also...
well i should go shower now... i am full of sea salt and sand. i only wish a sunburn could come off in the shower.. hehe. see ya later alligators!
