Haha! I didn't forget! Part two: Saturday! :D
Saturday morning, we woke up and got dressed in our cosplay outfits again. Once we got to the Sheraton, the first thing we did was get our numbered stickers that assigned our seats at the Cosplay Masquerade. We got line 7, (before the Cosplay, people line up according to their numbers. When the doors open, the ones go in, then the twos, etc.) which was higher than last year, woo!
After that, we hit the Dealer's Room again. I bought a ninja headband that says "FAIL" on it for Brendan's brother, Daniel, as well as the 5th Division fukutaichou's armband I couldn't decide if I wanted or not on Friday. I also bought a hat like Urahara Kisuke's (which I love to death and wear ALL THE TIME, btw :D), and I also was nice and bought a pair of goggles that looked like Matt's from Death Note for my sister, because she had run out of money.
After that, we decided to head outside, and discovered just how much fun the lawn can be. We hung around and watched people playing a game of Red Rover while waiting for the Naruto photoshoot to begin. While we waited, a "Yaoi" conga line started up, and my sis and I joined in. It went all the way around the outside lawn and then back again, twice. Then--gasp of all gasps!--right at the very end, my shoe broke! It was when the person behind me tripped over it when the whole line fell. Of course, this had to happen right before the big Naruto photoshoot!! T^T I called my mom to bring me a change of shoes, and I ended up just changing into my rave gear. (My sister did, too--cosplaying is fun, but it can be uncomfortable! ^^;)
While I was waiting for my mom to get there (we live about 30 minutes away, which can be quite a while when your shoe is broken to the point where you can't walk in it), I gave my sister the go-ahead to join in the Naruto photoshoot. She ended up having a lot of fun, hanging around with an armless Deidara and a Tobi, both of which were part of a Fun With Akatsuki cosplay group that was formed on the forums. She brought back a lot of pictures.
Another funny thing, while I was incapacitated, I saw a fair number of cosplayers I wanted pictures of, but were too far off for me to ask--and my shoe was preventing me from walking. So I would call my sister over, and have her go running after the cosplayer(s) to take their picture. This happened with an Ino-Shika-Chou group, AND an amazing Momo cosplayer! I think my sister told her how much I liked Momo. She was so nice about it, too! So that made my day! ^^~
After that, we still had a lot of time to kill, so we stayed out on the lawn--and another game of Red Rover started up! Of course, we joined in. Once the game started, the first guy who ran over was pretty strong--and of course he ran right at me and the girl on my other side! But we held him! This happened about three more times, and I never once broke!! Soon there was a bunch of big, tough guys on our side--with me and Rebecca right in the middle of them all. Then, at the very last part of the game, the entire other team rushed us--and we held!! My sister and I ended up holding back this big guy, along with a strong Renji and Ichigo, even when another guy reached to pull him through--and yanked out some of my hair in the process! I actually didn't feel anything, and ended up keeping the hair as a souvenir!! :D
After that, the line for the Cosplay Masquerade started, so we went to get in line for that. At the Masquerade, there was another disappointment: though our number was higher than last time, we were actually farther back because there was more people this year! Because of this, I ended up not hearing a lot of the skits because I was so far back. But the good thing was that some people had recorded the dialogue ahead of time and played it back on CD, matching their gestures to the audio. At least five people did this! Plus, there was a fair number of song or dace numbers, some of which were quite awesome.
After the Cosplay was over, it wasn't quite 10 o'clock (our curfew), so we stuck around to see the winners of the AMV contest. Sadly, none off my favorite won--but the ones that did win definitely deserved it, like the YuYu Hakusho vid set to Mitternacht by E Nomine, and a Cowboy Bebop meta-trailer with audio taken from the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy trailer where they described what a trailer was. Also, the Gurren Lagann music vid won, too. When they played it, everyone (and I mean everyone) started singing. It was too cool!
Sadly, after that we had to go, and ended up missing who won the Cosplay Masquerade. T__T
Once we got home, my sis and I stayed up until one in the morning chatting about various things such as Bleach, the con, Bleach, our cosplay, Bleach, and Bleach. ^^~
And that was day two!
animazement,
funness!,
