[It's raining. Hard. With thunder. It's 4:30AM. Where's Kanda? Why, the loud splash that sounds tells you exactly where he is. At the river. And he just stepped in part of the river

[Aguhnnghh why all the early-morning feeds lately? Lenalee curls tighter into the ball she's taken to sleeping in for a moment before fumbling blearily for her PDA (on the mattress, right by her head- what does that say?) and flicking it on. It's not a surprise to her that the broadcast came from Kanda, or even that it's at 4:30 in the morning. Nothing about this, really, is a surprise. Except for one thing.
Voice still heavy with sleep:] F-Flooding? The river's started flooding? [After the near-constant rainfall for the last- what was it? two months- she'd sort of expected it, but it's still not the sort of thing a person wants to wake up to.] Why're you at the river, Kanda?
[Because it's a weird place for the guy who can't swim to hang out? She furrows her brows, sitting up in bed; the sound will come across as the squeaking of rusty bedsprings.]
[That's like arguing "like I planned to get shanked by Rhode!" He might not have, but it still happened. :T]
Not at [a rustle as she checks the time for a more precise reprimand] a quarter to five in the morning, you aren't. They've probably been aware that the river might flood for weeks now, and also what that could do to us when it did... and we've already been pushing our luck with sneaking over there so often besides. One of these days we'll get caught trying to get in, especially so early in the morning. No one who already lives there will be wandering outside the city before it's even light out. If you go now, you'll just make yourself look even more like an intruder.
[Has he really been trapped in Nesreca for that long? Suddenly she feels much more aware of how sore her body is from four months spent sleeping on the same dilapidated mattress; of the shabby state her room has remained in since her arrival, since she'd always figured she wouldn't be here that long; of, god forbid, how badly she itches to fight an Akuma and be an Exorcist instead of just toting around the title. Are they ever going to get out of here?]
[There's the sound of more rustling as Lenalee presumably throws back her covers or something. Maybe he should pick up the pace a little, if he honestly wants to make it across-river.
With a renewed, dangerous sort of stubbornness:] Then they're definitely going to recognize by now that you don't live in Credinta! Your luck won't [can't] hold forever, Kanda! At least let some of us switch out with you sometimes... I- I can move faster than you, and I haven't been over there yet.
[You know, sometimes she really feels as if he's trying to keep her at an arm's length. It's probably the stress of the last two months talking, but even if she's never liked how irritable Allen and Kanda are around each other, there's something kind of disappointing in hearing that "the Beansprout" can go with him to Credinta, but not her.
(The part of her that isn't 4:45am frustration is very aware that Allen most likely verbally strong-armed his way into it, but she's pushing that part to the side.)
She drops back down onto the bed, resting the PDA in both hands on her lap. She's... tired.] ...Fine.
