Awesome night.

I hope the whole summer is like this, it would be unreal. Meeting new people and traveling anywhere new is so much fun for me.

I was asked to deal for a $.50/$1 cash game over near JFK/Umass apartments tonight and though it's small(er) stakes and $.50/$1 doesn't tip well I decided to check it out. Few college kids, few older kids in their 20's just playin' and donking around from the looks of it...I dealt for 15 minutes and got no tips so I was like jesus I'll just hop in this since these guys weren't used to playing with an actual dealer.

I immediately dumped my first buy-in ($120) with jacks vs another fucking overpair on a dry tiny board...but after I rebought and we combined to one table I stomped too hard.

Few notable pots for kicks;

Kd-Qh, I open for $4, two callers
Flop comes 4d-Qh-7h, I lead out for $6, my buddy Derek bumps it to $20, other guy mucks
I call the $14 more, turn comes a 3h, giving a flush draw.
I tell him to slow down, that I wasn't drawing on the flop or anything, but he makes it $35, just enough for me to call on my turned four flush. I get there, bet $50, and talked him into calling it, so that pot was around $200 or so

After that I just ripped this other kid to shreds to took my first buy-in and stacked 3 people early on, though he's a pretty bad player.

First time I have 8-4 in the sb, just call, flop comes 4c-8c-4d giving me cute little boat. I check it, hoping for a sick turn like a 6c giving some nice draws, turn comes and I check, it's bet for $5 and I call. River is a 9, and I check again knowing this kid has a hand and hopefully nailed the flush on the turn. He bet's $2....trying to 'sucker me into raising' I assume. I bump it to $35, he re-raises it to $65 surprisingly, and at that point I just toss in another $60 to see if he really has a better full house or is gonna give up his flush. He calls the $60 really fast and I'm like "flush right?" and toss in my 8-4 saying I hope it's good. He was beyond shocked, he told me he's been playing for "long enough" and is going to Turning Stone too, and didn't seem to care for any advice from me.

Another hand, A-5 hearts, I bump it to $4 preflop, 3 callers, same kid who I won with 8-4 off of and a short stack. Flop comes down 4d-6h-5c, it's bet for $5 so I call and the shorter stack calls. Turn is a 7h, and I'm reading this kid great and I know he just hit his straight. I make a very questionable play and lead out $26 putting the shorter stack all in. I knew or felt it so perfectly that even though he hit the high straight, and that there was a flush draw out there, that he would only call, again trying to "sucker" me in probably. Sadly the short stack doesn't call. My heart hits the river and I toss out a quick $50, he again calls and I tell him you have the high straight with the 8 right? he goes "yeah how do you know?" I tell him it's because I'm good, and also have the nut flush.

After the game broke around 1:30 or so I followed this dude Dan I played with to his apartment not too far, relaxed, drank a few beers, and played some beruit. Drove home around 3:00am and stopped by to see Lauren for a few and watch the Boondocks.

I enjoy these nights :o
