First Horror: Please god be a dream

[She wakes up. And for one wonderful moment she thinks it was a dream. It was only a dream. She hadn't gone to the prom yet. She hadn't been laughed at, she hadn't been made a fool of, she hadn't killed them... momma hadn't stabbed her...

She looks around the room and....and....she's in a strange place in a white nightgown....]

Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to startle ya that badly. [He smiles sheepishly at her] To be honest you look like somethin's bothering you.

I-I just woke up here....

[Which doesn't fully explain it. But yes...]

[But it's certainly a good enough answer] Oh yeah, it's that time of month ain't it. Welcome to Mayfield. It isn't your fault you're here but some people all it hell.

Well, probably not really. [Shit, he hadn't meant her to take him that seriously] I mean sure it likes to torture us but it ain't fire and brimstone. Not to mention it's brought a few demons and what not to here and they're just as confused as the rest of us.

Yeah, and gods, and people with powers, and super hero's. We get rather...oh. Um. I probably should have started that one better shouldn't I. [People he knows. Tact he doesn't.]

I'm not. I'm honest ta goodness tellin' the truth. Don't believe me? Try leavin' the town. It'll just loop back on itself, and that isn't the weirdest thing it can pull.

[weiss_tank]

[He shrugs] Beats me. We haven't been able to figure it out yet. One by one it takes us, strips us of anythin' and everythin' we have and tries to make us believe that this is paradise.

.......who wants us to think this is heaven?

The people who run this place, and before you ask, the answer keeps changin' every week. We've narrowed it down but we still don't know for sure. I just chalk it up to the 'town' as a whole. It's a lot easier to think about.
