First Horror: Please god be a dream

[She wakes up. And for one wonderful moment she thinks it was a dream. It was only a dream. She hadn't gone to the prom yet. She hadn't been laughed at, she hadn't been made a fool of, she hadn't killed them... momma hadn't stabbed her...
Momma!
She looks around the room and....and....she's in a strange place in a white nightgown....]

[Even in the cold weather, Fate takes time out of her walk home from work to pass through the park. It's a nice trip, especially with snow everywhere.

She pauses, though, when she notices Carrie.]

... Hello. Is something wrong?

[promfromhell]

[Carrie immidently freezes in place. Someone noticed her....]

N-no...nothing.

I'm just....new.

[Which while isn't a source of her staring in horror at a pine cone...it's part of it...]

[thunder_ace]

[Aaah. It doesn't explain it, no, but one step at a time, right?

Fate smiles; it's warm, comforting. She can tell the girl is scared, so she's trying not to frighten her even more.]

I see... has anyone explained our situation to you yet? I'll be more than happy to help if they haven't.

[That seems to scare her even more. Though at this point anything would.]

We're trapped her and we can't leave....

[thunder_ace]

[Ah...

Fate's used to helping kids younger than Carrie, but she's not going to give up this easily. Still smiling, she sits on the bench - not right next to her, though; she sits at the very edge. It wouldn't do to invade Carrie's personal bubble.]

Is that it?

Yes.

[She goes a little still when she sits down on the bench, but doesn't panic more when she just sits there.]

[thunder_ace]

Only that... [The smile fades a little. She really doesn't want to scare her more than she already is, but if she's not informed, it could be much worse...]

Sometimes... strange things happen here. Bad things. [Determination flashes in her eyes.] But there are plenty of people out there who can and will protect you.

....Protect me?

[Nope. Does not understand. People don't protect her. It's a trick. It has to be a trick.]

N-no. I'm fine.

[thunder_ace]

If you don't have some way to protect yourself... believe me, people will worry.

Nobody here wants to see everyone die. [Okay, that's... kind of a lie. But again, trying not to freak her out more...] We're all stuck here, so most of us have taken it upon ourselves to look out for the others.

....Do people die here a lot?

[thunder_ace]

... Yes. [Sob why you gotta pick the worst thing to ask.] Death isn't permanent, either... if someone dies here, they wake up the next morning like nothing ever happened.

No! It's... it may seem scary, and strange, but it's just a town. You're alive, and... for now, you're safe.
