Since the Exile's reveal of the queen being a fraud came to light, Mysari here keeps being pinged worse and worse, because her situation back home is similar... well, in a way. She's got questions, and even as a part of the guard, she's not getting answers. Which is only making her more worried.
A question before I assume anything: since the reveal, the queen has refused to see anyone/no one can talk to her except the royal family and Genero, correct? If this is so (or even if it's not), Mysari would have requested to see Valrune at least once, because she's been the quiet observer by Valrune's side inside the castle. [As a note: This was discussed with and agreed to by mods previously, both in IM and texts, and she has not gained any information that she hasn't shared since. I do not plan to abuse this position, we created it only so she could have her confidence as a queen rebuilt.] I'd imagine she's been politely declined.
Having been denied, even by being an observer, it's pinging her queen senses and urges hard. She wants to see Valrune- or, the impostor, whoever it is. She wants to see them and talk with them, guide them. Because even if they aren't the real queen, their intent is still there to take care of the city and its people. To her, that's enough to be a ruler. Names don't matter, the purpose and drive to care for others is.
What I'm thinking is possibly having her try to break into the castle next month, during Lunamane. The reason I ask is because while she wants to go see the queen, she's going to need backup and others might want to come along to scope for clues. As a guard, she has access to certain areas, I'd imagine, but will have to be more creative and more careful the further she goes. I think it's a great opportunity for CR and to move the plot along, as well.
Also, totally aware of the consequences and more than willing to have her own up to them. Because really: disobeying rules + going into off-limits in the palace + trying to talk to the not!queen + breaking in + being a part of the guard on top of this? Yeah, definitely a branding there (and torture, I'm sure. I'm even willing to have her horns cut off/skewed for a while, to drive the point home).
