I have this novel I've been working on for the past three months or so. And I've actually got it pretty well developed. Perhaps not in actual word count, but plot wise I know what's going to happen and why, which is not always the case.
But, it kind of bores me. I'm not sure what's up with that, I was really excited by the idea at first. Actually, that's a lie. I'm pretty sure it's because all I've written so far has been about the witch and her little investigation. When I first had the idea, it was all the witch's interactions with the vampires that were interesting. And none of that has really been happening. I don't know why the vampires would help her and it's always daytime and basically... no vampires = boring witch.
So, I might jettison it for now because in the meantime I've had another couple fabulous ideas, one about justice and one about harmonic disturbances and world shifting. And if neither of those pan out it's not like I don't have six hundred million other ideas saved in various places. And at this point, all of them are more interesting than the one I'm working on right now.
But the question is, would it be more responsible, more stick-to-it, just an all around better idea to stick to the one I'm currently working on? It's entirely possible that it will get more interesting later on... and you know, when you get to the boring middle part you're just supposed to keep writing and bull through it but... I really don't want to.
*shrug*
I just don't know.
