Now now now! Every soundtrack needs some explaining. So I'm going to share some of my thoughts and reasons why I've picked what I've picked, whose point of view which one is about or what it concerns or such. Just so you can understand it at least a bit better. So. Here we go!
00. THE KILLERS - ENTERLUDE
...Not much to say here. I wanted a short and calm start. It's just... an introduction. Welcome to see the story. Enjoy the moment it takes. And do the same with your life.
01. THE KILLERS - LOSING TOUCH
This is Kame. Kame before Jin steps in the picture. He doesn't really know what he's like, he lives in a haze and is confused. However, Koki and people around him notice that there's something off. That he's losing touch. But no one can really help him.
02. KATE NASH - SKELETON SONG
This refers to multiple things from Kame's point of view again. First of all, the implied presense of an eating disorder - second, the state of his mind, his depression which has devoured him and is the only thing he can lean on, all the dark thoughts in his mind. It's not really that he wants to have them, he just doesn't know how to be without them and the idea scares him so it's easier to live with them. Yet he knows that it's wearing him down and he's tired and sick of it. But he can't escape. It's all he knows. It's his safety.
03. CROSSFADE - COLORS
Yes, you can sort of imagine Jin stepping in the picture during the previous song. I think his entrance is around there. But this is where he fully steps in, for this song is more like from Jin to Kame. The lyrics should explain themselves.
04. KOЯN - FALLING AWAY FROM ME
The scene of Kame's attempted suicide at the bridge before he calls Jin. It isn't like he wants to die - he's just tired. He thinks of it more like casting away his negative mood and feelings. But he doesn't really want to die. ...I'm babbling. Yup.
05. EMILIE AUTUMN - HOW STRANGE
...Kame wonders why Jin bothers. He doesn't see any reason for a stranger to be so caring towards him. This could refer to the time they spent at the hotel, including the small little play on the couch and Jin's clear affection.
06. 上田竜也 (UEDA TATSUYA) - 花の舞う街 (HANA NO MAU MICHI)
Things are starting to go better between the two. This is from Jin again. Ah, his songs are so different compared to Kame's... such a puppy. But he sees the world with very different eyes, he sees its beauty and Kame as a very, very beautiful part of it. He's affecting Kame's life in a positive way and it makes him happy. It makes him happy to see Kame happy. And he's really starting to unconsciously fall for him, for he's becoming important to him.
07. THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE - I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW
For me, this is sort of the park scene with Pi, Ryo, Kame and Jin. The lovely messing around and distant Ryopi and Akame moments. Just loving each others and enjoying it with a child-like manner. It's the moment.
08. MUSE - UNO
I would've actually wanted this soundtrack to include Fillip for it's like the whole fic for me. But no, this one was way stronger and decided to butt in. Kame loved Jin, yet Jin left him. And Kame's a bit... messed up thanks to it. He refuses to admit how big of a deal it meant for him, even though he does acknowledge it. Hard to explain. I'm sure you know. Denial and bitterness.
09. THREE DAYS GRACE - WORLD SO COLD
Kame again. Ah, the beginning is filled with him... Anyway, he clearly misses Jin. So much that it hurts. And he's angry. And he dares to wish bitterly that Jin regrets, that he remembers him. That maybe one day they could be, although he doesn't believe in it. He just wishes that Jin would suffer like him. I don't know. I can't explain it again...
10. THE CURE - LOVESONG
From Jin to Kame. ...Didn't expect that. Damn, I realised afterwards that most of it actually sounds like the other way XD AGH. But it's there because of the part quoted there. Jin has realised his mistake and love for Kame in LA - this was never actually in the fic, I didn't focuse on him all that much. However, he never got over Kame, no matter how much he wished he would.
11. LUDO - SUCH AS IT ENDS
This is about both. I mostly see first verse as Jin and second as Kame. Can't explain that again but... that's my thought. Kame's starting to give up and let go, yet Jin's wishing from distance that one they they will be when he gets the courage to return. ...So it's mostly Jin? But it's still about both. Anyway.
12. 山下智久 (YAMASHITA TOMOHISA) - 指輪 (YUBIWA)
Pi's feelings for Kame. He knows Kame still loves Jin and he's afraid he'll just ruin things - he isn't good at opening his mouth and voicing out his feelings which can be seen from how long it actually DOES take from him to admit to it. He just wants to look after him and take care of him. But his feelings are strong - it's damn strong puppy love that drives him crazy and takes over his mind.
13. SUGARCULT - DO IT ALONE
Kame's and Pi's relationship. It isn't 100% fitting or anything but... I'm sorry Pi. Kame misses Jin and can't get around it, no matter how much he wants to fall for Pi. But he enjoys it. He enjoys Pi, he really does. He wants to believe that Pi's actually the person for me, just like Pi thinks of him. And he wants Pi to force it in his thick skull.
14. KAT-TUN - 春夏秋冬 (SHUNKANSHŪTŌ)
Jin's return. In a way. His feelings, how strong they are and how he acknowledges them and sees the world as beautiful with them. How he realises how everlasting his devotion really is, how he sees the seasons pass and wants them to pass with Kame. How he shares themw ith him and wants to share them over and over again. He gave up with LA, he gave up with distraction. And now Kame has Pi. He wodners if he should give up, if Kame's feelings for Pi really are as strong. But he doubts it.
He promised things for Kame after all. And it'd be sad to let it go as seasons pass. One day they'll share them again. That's what he wants to believe anyway, because every season seems more beautiful when it includes Kame.
15. HEAD AUTOMATICA - BEATING HEART BABY
...I see this as the part where Jin gets a bit too much of a dose of Kame and goes around the house sniffing his scent and trying to catch him all alone... Stalkerish... Well, it's Jin and he's such a puppy so... The lyrics should explain themselves.

The park scene between Jin and Kame. ...I don't feel like explaining this. You should know. Lyrics should explain themselves.

...Uh, porn time? I don't know, I just see this as it. How they get overwhelmed with the emotions, how they finally come together, how they're just so happy. I don't know. Can't explain it. It's the feeling.

You didn't forget Ryopi, did you? Tsk tsk, you can't do that. This is from Ryo to Pi. Those two deserve some love. They are a part of the fic after all. The scene where Pi comes to Ryo in the morning and Ryo's feelings and bla bla bla. You know.

...It just needed an ending. Private hearts sucked as the last song. So I needed something that closes it properly. So little last words. ...Just Akame and Ryopi and how important it is what one does - you are the creator of your own happiness after all. And love is nice, love is... loving. Loving that smile on your love's face.
I HOPE I MADE AT LEAST SOME SENSE. PROBABLY DIDN'T.
