I had been tracking the progress of this research for quite a while, then kind of forgot about it when I couldn't get my hands on any raw data, but yeah. Here's an article about it!

First the boring science-y stuff: This article is kind of meaningless without knowing the median percentage of facial symmetry in humans, or men aged 18-35, or something to compare their numbers to. I mean, 96% symmetrical sounds pretty high, but isn't that special if the average is like, 93%. Bad pop science journalist. No cookie.
Also? Needs more raw data! Satisfy my burning curiosity, dangit!
Okay, okay, the list.
So, Matt Ryan? Is pretty damn cute, I have to say. Brett Favre? Well, I have a mental block against ever finding him attractive, but hey, sure.
Aaron Rodgers? Now we're talking.
I do notice the QB I absolutely do not in the slightest have an illicit crush on, especially not when he's pulling endearing terrifying crazyfaces just sneaks into the given list at #9, but we don't talk about that.
Really I find the omissions more perplexing than anything else. If I had given it a lot of thought, which I totally have, I'd say Chad Pennington and Drew Brees were the best looking starters in the league, yet Kerry Collins, who looks like a hedgehog (you'll never unsee it) beats them both handily. I get that they're only measuring facial symmetry, since it's a quantifiable means of attractiveness, but can attractiveness really be quantified? I mean, it's so subjective, not just from person to person but even in a single person's experience (unless I'm just weird for not having any kind of type, save maybe a very slight and often irrelevant preference for the dark hair/blue eyes combo).
IDK, the more I look at their science, the less convinced I am.
Besides, we all know that the cutest QB in the league is none other than this guy right here. Tom Brady, eat your heart out.
And now I'm going to sit on my hands until the desire to write crackfic based on the article quietly passes.
